Letters and Experiences
Watergardens Town Centre - Lorenzo Calcagno
To Anna and the team. A huge thank you for my job at Watergardens. I had so much fun. The crew were great and very helpful. They made my mother and I feel welcomed. They couldn't do enough for us both. I had my hair and makeup done. This was very exciting because I'd never had this done before, for it was my first job. My mother and I both enjoyed the experience, especially when we got to see the pictures in the shopping centre. Thanks from Lorenzo.
Northland Fashion Parade - Felix Bell
Hi everyone. My name is Felix Bell and I am 8 years old. Firstly I want to thank Anna and the whole of Bettina's team for their support. I love you guys! I had an awesome time at the Northland Shopping Centre Fashion Parade. I got to wear cool clothes and walk the runway. My favourite outfit was a leather jacket, spunky shirt, jeans and cool sunglasses. Everyone was lovely, and worked so fast. Once we got of the runway there was a quick change and then back on the stage. I love it! The audience was friendly and I smiled at them when I was walking. It was my first time doing a fashion parade but I learnt the walk very quickly and had fun out there. Thank you team I had an awesome day and look forward to doing another one. Felix.
Northland Fashion Parade - Annabelle Tavan
On Saturday morning l was so excited about doing my first job – a fashion parade at Northland Shopping Centre. When we got there, my mummy took me to have a look at the stage that l would be walking on, it was SO cool. We met Amy, and then went to a hairdresser to have my hair done; it was put in a high piggytail. I had 4 outfits to wear, and l loved them all. I met all the other models, and they were so nice to me and showed me what to do. They said I was a natural! The first time I walked on stage, I was very nervous, but then I got more confident, and by the last show I was just having fun. I had to get changed in the clothes very quickly, which mummy helped me with. It was the best day of my life, even better than going to see Mary Poppins! Annabelle.
Sudo Clothing - Manisha Daswani
Photo Shoot # 1: Sudo Office, Moorabbin:
"I liked the clothes, especially the strawberry dress. I loved changing into all those wonderful clothes. I also liked posing. Oh yes, we all had McDonalds, it was great."
Photo Shoot # 2: Abandoned Garage, Edithvale:
"I loved mama and papa being there around me, it was fun. I was happy and relaxed at the place. I liked being myself, casual. I also liked the pose of putting my foot up on the wall behind."
Oliver Purvis - Medibank TVC
Hi Anna, In September I got a call from Bettina telling me my son has been chosen to be in a Medibank Private ad. We were very excited by this news! It started out with just a meet and greet with the client, they asked Oliver to do a short 5 minute task which they just filmed on a hand-held video camera everything was very quick and easy. The next call we got was to say that he had been short listed and he will be needed to come for a wardrobe day. I unfortunately couldn't make it to the wardrobe day but my mother took Oliver for me, she said it was a very relaxed easy day. The last call we got was to say Oliver has been chosen to be filmed for the advertisement, this news was what we had been waiting for! So we made the hour and a half trip to Melbourne where we were greeted by several helpful workers who pointed us where to go and what to do next, there was a little bit of waiting around to be done but thats got to be expected. They got us to dress Oliver into the clothes he would be filmed in which were his own clothes from home, then we went and got his "make-up" done, they only put a bit of sunscreen on and some powder so he wasn't too shiney. We then went straight onto set, the people in set were very good with all the children, Oliver is a very shy boy so I was a little worried about how he would go being given tasks to do by strangers but they were all very nice and patient with the children. By the end of the day Oliver was quiet tired, (he didn't get his afternoon nap) but we did get a free large buffet lunch and free coffee and drinks all day which helped us all keep going. All in all it was a very good day, Oliver had fun and it was a great experience for all of us - Georgia (Mother of Oliver)
"Dear Agents (who came to our rescue and helped us pull together a fantastic casting for Ford. We landed this job and its budget with such little notice. Thanks to a small group of agents (yes that's you!) we pulled it off and now have all bar the last two roles cast. We saw some delightful families, nervous Dads and very eager teen girls, cheeky larikin boys, fabulous women and men and now have a whole new group of people to consider for future jobs. Best of all we confirmed a terrific and varied cast. Thank you for all your fabulous and carefully considered submissions. Thank you for getting actors, models and families in here at absurdly short notice. Thank you for always being so good humoured and willing to support us. We really appreciate everything you do! Lastly, please thank all the terrific people who came in for the casting, we know it takes time, effort and expense to come to a casting, we hope it was an enjoyable experience for them, we truly enjoyed meeting them all." - Allison Meadows (Mullinars Casting Consultants)
"Hi Anna, Leah had a great time at the Medibank shoot on Thursday. She was a little shy at first, but warmed up quickly to the staff and other kids. She loved the play acting with the other kids and her favourite thing was playing hopscotch. Leah even loved playing dress-ups at the wardrobe call the week before! She can't wait to do it again! It's been a great boost for her confidence. Not bad for her first job! Thanks so much for your support." - Rachel O'Halloran (Mother of Leah)
"Hi Anna, A huge thank you to you and the team for giving Dominic the opportunity to appear in the WorkHeath Commercial. The whole experience was so wonderful. I can't thank you enough. The whole production team was so wonderful!!! Big thank you to Sandy and everyone involved. Dominic was so excited when he saw the ad on TV. He made us very proud!!! And can't wait for the next adventure!!!" - Daria Droszczak (Mother of Dominic)

The crew were fantastic and Mackenzie had a great day with the other kids 'playing pretend'- she can't wait to do it again! It's been a great experience, and we look forward to the next opportunity. Thanks again." - Samantha Cullen (Mother of McKenzie)
"To Anna, Thank you for my day full of fun and style. As soon as I got there, I had my hair done in an amazing ponytail. Then I had my own change room. I had to do two fashion parades. Each parade I had to change three times. It was a lot of fun. The older models showed me what to do on the catwalk. It was a great experience. Thank you...." - Chelsea Hall
"Hi Anna, Sorry I know you're busy but just letting you know that today was great for Ned at the VRC photo shoot. Thanks for organising everything from your end. Dani and Catherine were really lovely, as was Alex the photographer and the venue was superb, especially with today's weather! I hope the pics turn out well. Looking forward to checking out the Herald Sun tomorrow. Anyway, thanks again for all of your work, we truly appreciate it." - Melinda Hargreaves (Mother of Ned)
"Hi Anna, Please find photos as promised. Thank you for giving Emma the opportunity of being involved in the Madison fashion parade last week. When we initially got there Emma felt a little tired but after meeting Nicci and the models, Emma felt great. Nicci was lovely and she made Em feel comfortable and confident. It was a wonderful experience and Emma had great fun. Thanks again." - Michelle Johnson (Mother of Emma)
"Hi Anna, I will send you a link to download the final version. Thanks again for all your hard work on the campaign, it turned out great." - Larry Byrne (Senior Partner/Director of Production – Ogilvy & Mather / Chicago)
"Hi Anna, Here are a few pics of Lily-Blu Wilson at the Speedo Parade. She had such a fantastic day as did I. Everyone was so warm and welcoming. Unfortunately I wasn't able to get many pictures of her on the runway, blame a mixture of mummy nerves and the fact she walked so fast. Thank you once again, Lily-Blu hasn't stopped talking about it and the fact she got to meet Rachel Finch was definitely an added bonus." - Bronwyn Robertso (Mother of Lily)
Canon TVC – Jay Judd
I had so much fun at the Canon commercial. It was a long and hot day, but everybody was so nice to me and made sure that I had lots to drink and I even got an icy pole! There were lots of people at the shoot but they were all very friendly and I felt comfortable in front of the camera. It was very funny to meet my "mum and dad" because they look NOTHING like my real mum and dad, I couldn't stop laughing! The director let me keep the aeroplane from the ad, I will always remember my first ever TV commercial. Thank you Bettina for this chance! - Jay Judd
Microsoft Presentation – Jameson Birks
Dear Anna and Bettina, I went to audition for a Microsoft job where I had to be the CEO for the day. It was really cool as I got to play on the Xbox Kinect while I waited to audition. I was lucky enough to get the job and had to go into the city to a beautiful big building near the water. It was very exciting as I went by train and this was the first time for me. Once I knew I had the job I practiced and practiced so I would get it right. When I arrived, the Microsoft people were really nice to me. It was a surprise for me to walk in on the board meeting so I had to hide in a meeting room so no one would see me. I felt awesome as I had my hair slicked back and was dressed in a suit like a businessman. Mum had given me a big black folder to put my script in and a pretend phone. In the meeting room I practiced a few times and they really loved it. It was so funny because I got to yell orders at these important people about marketing budgets and strategies. The real Microsoft CEO (PIP) was nice to me and was the only one who knew I was a fake. She helped me a lot during the meeting. All the board members laughed at the stunt as they thought it was so funny that a kid was in charge of this massive company. It was a great and fun experience. After, the stunt mum took me out for lunch and then we rode the train home. Thank you to Anna for putting me up for this job, acting is what I really love to do - Jameson Birks (former CEO of Microsoft for a day)
Barbie Shoot – Chelsea Hall
Hi Anna, I had a fantastic time when I did the Barbie Shoot. Mel and the team from Mattel were great. The stylist and the photographer were so much fun. They made me have the best time and made me laugh a lot. The shoot went all day. I remembered all of the things that Jade taught me at the modelling training and it really helped me. At the end of the day I was given lots of Barbie stuff. My favourite things were the Barbie pyjamas and the Barbie camera. It was a great experience and I can't wait to do it again - Chelsea Hall
Selleys TVC – Callum Andrews
Just wanted to let you know how thrilled we are and how excited our family are with seeing Callum in the Selleys Ultra Repair TVC. It has just topped off a great experience for us and Callum. The shoot went so fantastically well with the crew being so helpful and great with Callum, he really built up a great rapport with his 'TV Dad'. The crew were also really great when it came to the crying scenes that needed to be filmed, this could have been a traumatic experience for Callum and I, but due to their sensitivity Callum came through it fine and was happy and ready to keep filming after a short break. It was a very enjoyable day of shooting and it is now great to see the TVC and share that with our friends and family. I think even Callum gets a little kick out of seeing himself on TV! Many Thanks - Renee Andrews (Mother of Callum)
Mossimo Shoot – Damon Van Der Zwart
I really enjoyed my first shoot with Mossimo. It was a fun experience for me, everyone was nice and very professional. I liked the location we were shooting at because it was very open and easy to shoot in. My favourite part of the day was when we were shooting at the rocks with our different coloured hoodies. I chose the best rock to sit on and they took a picture of us when we weren't looking! I look forward to future photo shoots with Bettina - Damon Van Der Zwart
Target TVC – Georgie Woodall
Hi Anna, Nan asked me to let you know how the Target shoot went on Saturday. It went very well. We arrived at 7.30. The lady in charge was Natalie. She showed us around and then we had breakfast. We then met the other people who I would be working with. We were to be a family. My dad in the shoot was Craig and my mum was Mellissa. I also had a little brother called Xavier. For the first shoot we did winter wear. I wore a cardigan with jeans and a t-shirt. The people I worked with were very nice and friendly. Craig and Mellissa were very kind to Xavier and me. We were given a lovely lunch and then I met some of the other children that were in the other ads. There was another ten-year-old girl called Chelsea, another boy called James and a little four-year-old called Nina. We played together using an electronic white board. After lunch I did the sleepwear shoot. Of course I wore pyjamas for that one. It finished after five so we said good bye to the other children and their parents. We also said good bye to Natalie who told us we could take home some Easter eggs. I took one for myself and one each for my brother and sister. It was a very good day but I was tired and fell asleep at the end of the day. I can't wait to see the ads when they come on TV. I hope I could do it all over again one day. Thanks for giving me this great job - Georgie Woodall
Disney Junior TVC – Emma Maguire
I had a great time at the Disney Junior shoot, mainly because it was filmed at Lollypop Playland and I got to play there in between shots. I met a lot of nice people including Grace who I will appear on TV with. During the shoot we had to wear funny little microphones and repeat lines to the cameraman while he filmed us. There was lots of giggling, as we had to say some funny things. In between lines we got to play a game that had floating balls, that was really amazing, I had never seen anything like that before! All in all it was a fantastic day. I can't wait to see myself on Disney Junior! - Emma Maguire
Robina Town Centre Shoot – Monique Wood
Hi, my name is Monique Wood. I am six years old now and currently in grade 1. My mum got a phone call about an interview for the Robina photo shoot and the people wanted to meet me in the city. My dad came too. They were really nice and asked me what my favourite food was. I said "White chocolate" and they promised that me that they should be able to organize that for me when I was to do my photo shoot and explained what I need to do on the day. Two days later my mum drove her car to the city and we went inside a big building. Inside there were lots of people and an Xmas tree and pretend presents. There were lots of clothes and jewellery and makeup everywhere. I sat in a chair and had my hair and makeup done by a really nice lady. And then I put on a pretty blue dress and shoes and jewellery. I had lots and lots and lots of photos taken of me. I ate lots of white chocolate and strawberries. It was so much fun. They would take some photos of me and then I would have a break and eat more chocolate and strawberries. I had photos with Santa too, I know he wasn't the real one because mum told me that he was just a helper as Santa was at the north pole. When I took the photos with Santa I had to look in his ear for wax and recite the alphabet. I couldn't see any wax in there and this made everybody laugh and me laugh too. Inside the present box where more photos were taken I had to open the lid and count the pretend rabbits and close the lid again. This was a bit hard to do as I kept accidently counting out loud instead of in my head quietly and this kept making me laugh. It was really funny. Mum kept laughing with me too and at the end they gave me a present, a box full of Jewellery including the belt I wore around my waist in the photos. My mum a few weeks later took me on an aeroplane to Qld to the Robina shopping centre. I got to see myself and Santa in the shopping centre everywhere. I also got to keep the catalogue from the Robina shopping centre. When my mum first showed me the catalogue I was a bit disappointed that I was not on the front cover as I wanted to be on the front cover. I was inside the catalogue twice and my mum said that if I want to be on the front cover one day that I can be. I really want to be on the front cover like the pretty other model lady that was at the photo shoot with me was. She was really pretty and nice to me – Monique Wood
Mrs Biggs – Blake Nicholson
Hi Anna, How was your weekend? I hope the rest of the weekend you got to have a great break! I just wanted to touch base with you and say that the weekend went great. Blake had an absolute ball and from what I gather everyone was really happy with him. It was certainly an experience and after meeting everyone and being on location my nerves have settled down and we're super excited for the rest of the filming over the next few weeks. Blake's brother, mum and dad all seem lovely. Blake had a ball playing with Oscar who is playing his brother as we got to spend quite a bit of time with him prior to the scene out on location. I have attached a pic of Blake in his 60's costume. Thanks and I'll talk to you soon – Naomi (Blake's Nicholson's mum)
Canon TVC – Donté Velona
Well, it was so much fun, I got to run up a hill at the beach and I got to play with a toy aeroplane with streamers coming off it at the same time. The director was very funny and kind. I can't wait to do it again! - Donté Velona
"Dear Anna, Thank you so much for the opportunity to be involved with the Zoos Victoria shoot. What an honour!! When I told Dominic that he will be going for a photo shoot at Werribee Zoo he was so ecstatic including us. Thank you so very much from the bottom of my heart. What a fantastic day it was at the Zoo, getting so close to the animals. And to make this experience even better was to see Dominic on the billboard!!! Wow!!! So exciting!!! Thank you so very much. We appreciate everything that you guys have done for Dominic. So amazing!!!!" - Daria Droszczak (Dominic's mum)

Thanks again for being so helpful through this - fantastic outcome!" - Ivana Martinovic (Creative Director - Martin & Vic)
"Hi Anna, Just to let you know that Chelsea was incredible on the shoot - everyone was thoroughly taken with her and her abilities in front of the camera and her personality behind it. "Hi Anna, Owen and I got a nice little surprise today while shopping in BigW. We were just having a browse and came across someone we recognised. CBA Callsheet - Centenary Stills Shoot
Hi Anna, Just to let you know that Angus did his CBA Centenary Stills Shoot on Saturday (8.00am-1.00pm). The weather was not pleasant in Sydney, but Angus had such a ball from the minute of changing wardrobe to waving goodbye, he thought he was a STAR already! Thank you for giving Angus this opportunity. He obviously has grown up with heaps more enthusiasm this time compared with the first job he did for Colgate. He enjoyed it a lot! Hope your client will be satisfied with the shoot after-all. Many thanks and looking forward to hearing from you again. Kind Regards, Aida (mum of Angus Tiew).
The City of Joondalup - Travis Ross WA - 19th May 2011
Hello Anna, Thanks for the opportunity for Travis Ross to be in this photo shoot. He had a blast, thoroughly enjoyed himself as I think all the kids did, they had a terrific day. What a great bunch of kids and got on so well together. The three boys hit if off straight away. Okay I will wait to hear from you. And Anna, thanks so so much. What a terrific and awesome day Travis had. He can't wait for the next one.
Kind regards, Caren Ross.
Sydney Hair show- Isabella Vowles
Hi Anna, A very big thank you for the opportunity that Bella had in June to model on the catwalk in the Generation Next night at the Hair Expo 2011, Exhibition Centre Darling Harbour! As it was our first job, Bella was the only child involved and with an audience of 2500 people we were unsure of what to expect, but it was absolutely wonderful, exceeded our expectations, and a very positive experience! She enjoyed it immensely and besides being treated like a princess (getting hair, makeup and dressing up) she came out with so much confidence, pride and knowledge! Thank you for the opportunity and she is looking forward to what may be coming next! - Melissa Vowles (Mother of Isabella)
Project San Fran (Client)
Dear Agents, We have our full final cast approved for this amazing project. Thank you all so, so, so much for your support and for sending in all the amazing performers we have met and auditioned over the past four weeks, they have been incredibly generous in their willingness to dress suitably and play with some improvisation in the castings. We now can say "thank you" to everyone and more importantly "thank you" to you and your colleagues for all your help in making this an incredibly successful casting. Warmest Regards, Allison, Poppy, Kate and Alexis and of course Shirene who has had a ball (Especially when we cast the Firemen!) - Mullinars Casting
Melbourne Storm Event - Lucy Oakford & Joel Matthews
Hi Teesha, We would like to say a huge thank you to yourself, Chris, Felicity, Shane and all the other staff involved in today's Match activities. Chris and Felicity were fantastic at encouraging two very nervous children to enjoy the moment, while the hospitality extended to Jeremy and myself was excellent and much appreciated. Growing up in Victoria we are not familiar with NRL but, having the opportunity to watch this exciting game after the children were finished has won Melbourne Storm another family of supporters. Caitlyn announced "I'm hooked it's so much more exciting than AFL, I'm coming to all the home games." She has just looked up the fixture and the next game, against the Sharks, happens to be on 29th May Joel's birthday! Joel has asked me to find out if there are any clubs in our area as he wants to have a go at playing rugby and I must admit I found myself on the edge of my seat as The Raiders were 2 points ahead and Melbourne Storm tried to fight back in the last 10 mins. Thank you once again for giving Joel this wonderful opportunity and for all your hard work to make this day happen. Warmest Regards, Donna Lee Matthews
Catherine Williams - Life style & health shoot

City of Joondalup photo shoot - Kaitlyn Hedley
As far as photo shoots go, this was very exciting but then again it was my first. I had a lot of fun and I enjoyed meeting the other Bettina models they were a great bunch of people to work with. It turned out to be a really nice day. The sun was shining, the gentle breeze blowing which made Hillary's Boat Harbour the perfect location.
Joondalup City Council - Jasmine McStravick
On the day of the photo shoot, I arrived not knowing what to expect. There where other young people at the place already and before long, we were mingling together. When the shoot began, I was surprised at how relaxed it all was. I truly enjoyed myself as in between photos we got to know each other. Everyone involved were really friendly which made it a lot more fun. - Jasmine McStravick
Robina Town Centre - Sienna Cameron
On a cold Melbourne Winter's day in June, Sienna was booked for a photo shoot for Robina Town Centre. When we arrived at the studio, we were welcomed by extremely friendly and courteous staff who made sure we were warm and comfortable. We were introduced to everyone and then we were offered drinks and delicious snacks while we waited.
Everybody involved in the shoot were so kind to us and really tried to make Sienna feel at ease. The whole afternoon went really smoothly and Sienna was happy and content. I was very impressed with the professionalism of everyone and really enjoyed the experience. Sienna also enjoyed her afternoon, but her favourite part of the shoot was "having my hair curled and eating a yummy, scrummy doughnut!" (these were her exact words).
Regards - Michelle (mum) & Sienna Cameron
Mattel TVC- Ella Christo
To Anna and the team, A big thank you for my job for Mattel Dora ad. I had so much fun!! The guys at studio were so good and really funny!! Shepparton was really good too. It took a long time to get there, I drove mum crazy with "Are we there yet?". According to mum I asked about 350 times but when we got there it was all worth it. I really loved the motel even though I couldn't use the pool as mum said we couldn't use it when it was almost snowing (very cold). It was our first family holiday with my baby sister Zara and mum and dad want to say a big thank you for organising that. You guys are awesome!! Love Ella.
"Hi Anna, I loved being in the big new plane and having my photos taken with my pretend family. They were so nice. I got to meet lots of pretty ladies that worked on the plane - We all had our hair & makeup done together! It was a really fun day!"
Taylah Hennekam
"Hello, My name is Tatiana, my son Rocco Miller participated in your last Peter Alexander photo shoot. Just wanted to let you know that Rocco was on cloud 9;)) . Everything was very well organised, starting from yummy biscuits, fun group of kids and of course great crew. Rocco loved getting his hair done, changing outfits and posing for the camera. Kids that age have way too much energy and PA crew was happy to play around and have a great time with them. The catalogue looks superb and Rocco of course couldn't stop showing off to his little sister, who is very proud of her 5 year old sibling. Thank you Anna, we look forward hearing from you soon;)" - Tatiana Miller (Mother of Rocco Miller)
"Dear Anna, I would like to thank you for giving Alyssia the opportunity, because she was very excited, thoroughly enjoyed herself & it was a very positive experience. She woke up early on Saturday morning and said she needed to "get ready to do her job". Throughout the event she was her confident self & had the Gucci staff laughing when she referred to Jett as her "supermodel partner". I also had at least 5 of the VIP clients approach me & tell me that I should put her into modeling. Thank you." - Angela Vais (Mother of Alyssia)
Hi my name is Georgie and I'm 9 years old. I had so much fun making this ad and working with Paris as well as meeting her. Pet Pals studio was a two-day shoot, I thought it would be tiring and hard but it turned out to be heaps of fun. Moose is great to work with because they are wonderful people and keep you interested. Plus Pet Pals are great, I have got them!
Hi Anna, I was so excited when my mum told me I was going to be in a music clip for a mini series. It was my first job and it was great in so many ways. I really liked how they did make up on our faces. When I first went up in front of the camera I was a bit nervous, but when I really got into it I was ok and happy. I had to play the tambourine and pretend I was in a forest and jump around. I really loved it. Thanks for choosing me to be part of the clip. From Shanae Semer.
Hi Anna, I was very excited to have the opportunity to appear on the popular TV show Offspring. I was given a selection of clothes to bring along. My Dad was asked to move his car to be used as the doctor's car in a scene. I then proceeded to the makeup trailer where I met one of the actors from the show, whilst the rest were having breakfast. I then was taken to the location where the photoshoot was conducted. A few makeup and wardrobe changes occurred and we captured the final photos. I am looking forward to the results which I understand will be in episode 5 or 6. A great experience which I hope is the beginning of more to come! Lauren Hadley.
Hello Anna and everyone at Bettina's. My name is Stephanie Wang and I am 7 years old. I just want to say a big big thank you for my first job. Back in April I had a casting opportunity for a music video called "The Late Knights". I had to go all the way to Moo Studio in West Wynnum (I live in Surfers Paradise). I had to introduce myself and play an instrument, there were a lot of kids in the waiting room, I was nervous, but it was fun. After a few days my mum got a phone call saying that I had been selected to do the shooting for the MV. I was so excited, my mum bought me new clothes because Anna said I had to dress up fancy. On the day I had my hair curled by my mum, in the shooting I had my make up done by a nice lady. It was so cool. When it was my turn to do the shooting, I had to do what the director told me, I had to wave to the sky, jump around, with a big smile of course. They asked me to play piano too. It was so much fun. I loved it so much. I can't wait to do another job! Love from Stephanie.
My call time was 8.30 am where I signed in, filled in the necessary paperwork and went to wardrobe. We had to wear school uniform for the shoot so we got changed into a matching uniform and then sat around waiting to be called for filming. They gave us breakfast, lunch and snacks throughout the day. The food was pretty good actually. We were split into two groups - under 15 and 15 and over but i hung out with some of the guys in the 15 and over group. They were really nice and friendly, one guy was showing us card tricks. Finally we boarded the bus for the shoot. Those with a specific role were positioned in particular spots on the bus. The rest of us acting as extras could sit wherever we liked and given props such as magazines. We were told in the brief to bring props so i had brought my i pod and used that while playing my part. I was a little self conscious knowing i was being filmed but not being able to see the camera helped my nerves. We were told to look natural and to not look at the camera at all, so i talked to the guy sitting across from me. Because i didn't know him it was sort of easier to 'pretend ' chat because we could ask each other questions getting to know each other and stuff so i think it looked more natural. We did two takes for the shoot so it must have gone reasonably well but never actually saw the main actor with the starring role. I think the Secret Service were hiding him! The people directing were nice and not too demanding or impatient. They just gave us ideas on what they expected or wanted and let us get on with it. It was pretty chilled and went smoothly despite people being everywhere and about 50 teenagers hanging around with no clue what they were doing. It was pretty fun even though hanging around for 8 hours can be tedious. It was a very long day which could have been boring if i hadn't made friends so i recommend you make friends at these shoots or the day will drag on forever. I'm still in touch with the guys i met there and speak to them on facebook regularly. It was tiring but i look forward to more work if they are all as much fun as this one. Thank you for the opportunity. Kahlil Fourie.
Hi everyone at Bettina. I've been with Bettina for only a couple months and was very excited when I found out I had a casting with Nickelodeon. The casting was awesome and the team at Nickelodeon were fantastic. When I found out I got the job I was ecstatic. When I got slimed it was the best feeling in the world. I was jumping into something I had no idea about. Was it going to be sticky, thick or thin. I got my wardrobe and make-up done and got to wear some pretty awesome clothes. When it was my turn to get slimed I stepped up onto the platform and saw all the slimers and camera's pointing at me. The slimers had a serious look on there face. Before I jumped everybody cheered me on and made me feel very excited. It was surreal to have all these people cheering for me. When I jumped and saw the slime coming at me from four different directions, I had a big adrenaline rush and didn't know what to do so I just kept smiling, pretty bad idea since it went all into my mouth. It actually didn't taste as bad as I thought. When I landed on the mat I was absolutely saturated with slime. It was even in my shoes. After we got slimed we had to have a shower and go into wardrobe and make-up again. Thanks Bettina for giving me such a great experience. Thanks to you I met lots of wonderful people that I am still in contact with. Ariel x
"Hi Anna, Montana got a huge thrill this weekend when she opened the Best & Less Catalogue to find herself in there. Then we received another catalogue inside the Sunday Telegraph, so that was a nice surprise also. I think seeing herself in print for the first time has helped her figure out what all this modelling is about. Thanks for sending her to the Neon Studios; they are always so friendly and nice to work for." - Dearne & Montana Ritchie (Parents of Montana)
Hi, I'm Leyla. I would like to tell you about my experience I had at the fashion parade at Northland Shopping Centre. I had the best day of my life at the fashion parade because people and the other models were saying good things about me and I felt good about myself. I felt like a real star and I loved it. They were saying good things about the clothes and catwalk and I wish it could happen again :) Thank you! Leyla Banusevski.
On the 11th of November my Mum was in the supermarket when she received a call saying I was chosen to be an extra in a TV series called Terra Nova! When I got back from school Mum told me about the call. I was amazed and excited. On the 12th of November I went with my Dad to the meeting point at Suncorp Stadium (my favourite place in Brisbane) we registered and had something to eat. We met lots of interesting people acting as extras. We saw some people dressed as futuristic solders. I was to be a traveller and a group of us got dressed and driven to the set. We were given a backpack, ID tag and a gas mask. We started with a scene about walking through the time-portal. The next scene was about putting away the stuff we didn't need for the trip. The next one was about walking off the ship. It took 7 hours since we had to do lots of repeat shots. We were well looked after. All the mums and dads were looked after too! I got paired with a lady traveller from Peru. We were driven back to the meeting point and we went home. On the 15th November we went to Mt Tamborine for the next shoot. We were driven to the set and did a walking part while some of the main actors were going crazy. The third shoot was at Skilled Park. By then I was pretty experienced and could help some of the new extras. I learnt lots of things and made new friends and would like to become an actor. I'm very thankful that Bettina managed to get me in. It was really fun doing the Peter Alexander shoot last term. Mum took me there after school and when I got there I saw there were 3 other kids there too. A nice lady showed me the PJs and nighty I was going to wear. They were really cute. Then a man took me to the dressing room and he did my hair and put a little bit of make-up on me. He teased my hair out and pinned the front bits back. It looked really cool. We had to wait for a while and we were talking to the other kids and mums who were waiting too. I had to get dressed into the nighty in a change room then go on the set where the photographer took lots of photos of me. They told me to jump up on my toes and do a few other things. I had a quick change again into the PJ s and back for more photos. It was a really fun thing to do after school!
At first I was too scared to hop in the dingy with Sarah because I thought the houseboat was going to drive off with the dingy, so my mummy had to be near me to hold my hand lots. When Richie hopped into the boat with Sarah it was very funny because he had to pretend he was kissing her and looking in her eyes. I laughed a lot at Richie because of this. The man who owned the boat showed me all inside it, it was so cool. I went into the engine room and the man told me you can go in it when it's driving, but you might get steamed up in there. After that, I was really happy and had a very fun time with William. We had a yummy lunch near the houseboat on the water's edge. We got to hop in a cool car and I was jiggling around and doing bunny ears while Nick was taking photos. Then we had to do the pretend wedding I got to wear a super cool suit that was made by a man called Christian Dior, my mum said if I was older she would marry me because she thought I was very very handsome. I had a very fun day. Cyrus.
Hi, my name is Tyla and I'm 6 and a half. I've been with Bettina for a year now and have got lots of work. It's been really fun, especially the time off school for castings and photo shoots :) But there is one that stands out the most. When my mummy told me I got the job for Studio Bambini, I was excited but a little nervous too. The first photo shoot was in Darling Harbour at the Chinese Gardens and I dressed up as the Queen of Hearts and Twiddle Dee. I had lots of fun. The second was at a Circus. We got to meet all the circus people. I was a clown and the Ringmaster. I really loved all the make up and clothes. Mummy picked me up from school one afternoon and told me the Studio Bambini magazine was out, the one I modelled in. When I saw my photo on the front cover, I was so excited and happy. My mummy was screaming. All of my family was so proud of me. I love working for Bettina and can't wait for my next big JOB!!! Thanks Anna.
Hi everyone @ Bettina's! Zoe Spinaze here of Bracken Ridge, QLD. I couldn't believe it when my mum told me that I was called in for a casting to be in a Steven Spielberg TV series called Terra Nova... Omg! I was so excited!!! So far, I've been to 4 different locations & every shooting day was fun. Long trips, but it's all fun. The crew of Terra Nova are all nice & friendly. They looked after us. There were lots of food & drinks on the set. They did my hair, a little make-up and I got to wear a new outfit last week. Sooo COOL!!! I feel like a STAR... even though I got a small part. For me... this is huge!!! The best experience ever. I can't wait to see what it looks like on TV. Thank you sooo much Ms. Anna! I can't wait to do more & more jobs like this. Cheers!!! xoxo Zoe.
Hi Anna, We had a great day with the kids. They were so professional and really fun to work with - credit to your agency. They worked like troopers as we had a tight schedule to follow. I think they particularly enjoyed the last bit where we took them down to the beach and put them in canoes and a tinnie and floated around for a while. They all came organised with the things I asked them to bring also. Parents were great. Thanks again for organising this for us. We got all the shots we needed. Regards, Leanne Fisher Deputy Principal Clontarf Beach State High School QLD. I love working with Bettina! If I ever need a model for my photo shoots Bettina are always there to help me out. They are so easy to deal with and always provide me with professional, enthusiastic and confident talent that I enjoy having on my set. Cheers, Paula Bartlett Production Co-ordinator Best & Less
A few days after sending in the forms for my daughter Emily to join Bettina I received a phone call – I assumed because I filled the forms out incorrectly! To my surprise, Emily had already been chosen for a commercial. I have received nothing but friendly, helpful and professionalism from Anna and all who I've dealt with. At the filming everyone was extremely nice and Emily got plenty of attention from everyone there! Thanks for everything. Regards, Jenni (Emily's Mum)
Hello Anna, Mum and I would like to say a really big thank you to you and Bettina's. On Monday I had a really cool photo shoot for Aldi at Point Piper I had a good time I to got to slip and slide, dive into the pool, poolside side photo's with a beach towel and go into a pool with no water (only a bucket of water) and throw it up in the air oh yeah my mum loved the house it was at. Then on Friday I had a shoot for Eveready batteries it was awesome. There was a 12 year old girl with me (who was my sister for the day) playing a guitar while I sat on a dinosaur with heaps of other toys around us I pretended to be racing him I was so glad I was chosen for this shoot. We were told it was for a really big promotion to win toys and it runs for 3 months and will be all over the shopping centres I can't wait neither can my mum and dad oh yeah and my nanna. My mum and I would like to also say a really big thank you to everyone on Friday they were really nice and the ladies at Eveready gave me a toy from the shoot to take home because they said I did a really good job it was R2-D2 from star wars I love him he follows me around the house and dances and whistles he is cool. This week I told my mum and dad it was the best week ever. Thank you heaps, Baeley Recchia
My name is Will and I am nearly six! A few weeks ago I was lucky enough to be in the L'Oreal Fashion Festival. It was my first parade and it was great! I made a new friend called Zack and we had fun playing DSI games whilst we were waiting our turn! The clothes were so comfy and I looked really cool, but as soon as the parade finished I had to put my school uniform on and go back to school. Thank you to Bettina Management for helping me. Love Will
Hello Anna, My name is Piper Heard & this is my experience as a model at L'Oreal Fashion Week: This was my first ever fashion parade. It was very exciting trying on the clothes, meeting new friends & going to rehearsals. The day before the actual parade I was really nervous. On the day I felt like a real model with all the fuss of a girl to help me get dressed and also people to do my hair and makeup. On the stage during the parade I had so much fun, a lot more than I thought I would. The next day it was really cool to see myself on television & in the newspaper photos of the parade. I'd love to do this again one day. Thanks for helping me have this opportunity. Regards, Piper
After auditioning for the catwalk, I was keeping a positive attitude, hoping that I was going to be accepted. As soon as I found out that I had got in, and that I had to go to a fitting I was full of joy but still didn't know what to expect from the organizers, or what they were expecting from me. After I had tried on the clothes I was going to wear, I couldn't wait till the show. I missed the first practice. After that I was a bit nerves wondering if I could do as good as they were expecting. But I got to the last practice and did fine. After the show I was relieved. Doing the catwalk was a one in a million chance for me, with the friends I made and things I experienced; I could do it again without changing anything. Stevie was my dresser for the Just Jeans clothes that I wore at the show. Anna from Bettina was great looking after me and my family we all had an excellent day. Regards, Neane
Hello Anna, Just recently I finished filming as an extra in the mini series, Dead Normal. As it was my first job for Bettina Management, I found it's enjoyable and exciting. Being on the set for the show gave me opportunities for a range of things, firstly, to see and experience things one wouldn't in everyday life, secondly, to meet many wonderful people and make some new friends, and lastly, but mainly, it provided me with a great first acting experience and knowledge which will hopefully help me in future endeavours. I look forward to hopefully partaking in future jobs for Bettina Management. Regards Jessica Baggio
Hey, my name is Amy and this year I was in the L'Oreal Fashion Festival it was so much fun! The rehearsals were exciting and I made many new friends. I did 3 walks overall for Mini Haha, Replica and Muppet they all had great clothes. On the day we all came in very early and got our hair and a tiny bit of stage makeup done it was so exciting! Then a reporter and camera man interviewed a couple of us. I was one of the kids interviewed it was just about how excited I was and what I wanted to be when I grew up. Then we were ready and the show began. The show was great and all the other kids loved it too. After the show the same reporter and camera man were backstage and they interviewed us in groups and asked us to pose. It ended up on the Today show along with some photos of the show in action. I was in one of the photos as well and it was so exiting to see myself and my new friends on T.V. Overall the show was so much fun and all the people were great including all the dressers especially mine who was so nice. It was an unforgettable experience. Amy Vadiveloo
"Hi Anna, Well what can I say, I've never done anything in the TV industry before and it was a great experience to do the Commercial. It was interesting to see how they operate behind the scenes and the amount of preparations that go into it. I met some nice people and had an enjoyable time.
Thanks for the opportunity...." Paul Bell
"Hello Anna, I would like to say a big THANK YOU for all the work you have got for me like Aldi and all the castings you have sent me on even though I haven't got a part on a commercial it doesn't matter because I have fun trying anyway but I really love my photo shoots with ALDI my photographer I usually have is really nice and funny. My mum gets really excited to when I am on a job. Again THANK YOU heaps for trusting in me when I am representing you at 'Betttina's'" Baeley Recchia
"Hi Anna, I'd just like to say how much Harrison & I enjoyed his very 1st assignment. Since being only new to this industry we really didn't know what to expect we had thought it was a photo shoot at Foxtel Studios but much to our & everyone else's surprise it turned out to be a TV story it was very exciting for all. Everyone was so friendly; we met some very nice Mum's & Bubs from Bettina as well and had a wonderful time. His TV debut was last Sunday evening on Channel 7's "Sunday Night" programme." Jennifer Bond (mother of Harrison)
"Hi Tabatha, Thank you for the past two opportunities you have presented to Lachlan. Not being a biased parent I hope, I have been absolutely impressed with Lachlan's approach to all of this. While doing the auditions, Lachlan has remained completely un-phased in comparison to the other children around him. It seems hand in glove for him, even if nothing does come from these auditions, Lachlan has gained sense of confidence you simply can not buy. That is what we believe is so important. He has always shown an ability in the arts such as dancing and performing but being a boy's boy much preferring footy and cricket at this stage. Once again, thank you so much for considering Lachlan for the last two audition opportunities." Danielle Gleeson (mother of Lachlan)
Kyan Sullivan – Sunday Night Program (TV show/Documentary)
Hi Juliette, Just want to let you know that as my little boy Kyan's first gig, the experience with Channel 7 Sunday Night Program was excellent (in late March this year). They were a bunch of professional and friendly people. Monique Wright was so approachable and lovely and patient with the babies. It was an enjoyable and fun experience. Regards, Karen Cheng
Javier Rodriguez – Old El Paso (TVC)
I was so excited, when l was told that l had the part in the Old El Paso Commercial. We flew to Sydney for four days to film. l was blown away with how the set was set up, it looked liked Mexico town. My favourite part was when they had thrown me up in the air for a festive celebration, I wasn't scared at all. I knew they had a safety officer holding onto me. I enjoyed doing the close up, into the camera and pretending that l was speaking to my cousin jose. I had a few speaking parts, which was fun. Everyone was so nice to me and I had so much fun. Anna and crew, thank you so much for a very enjoyable experience!
Benji Crumlin – Sunday Night Program
When we got the first phone call from Bettina we were all very excited. Benji was asked to appear on a Channel 7 documentary with a group of other little babies all around the same age. On the day we all had a great time at the studio while they took heaps of photos and film for the documentary while the presenter lady sat in the middle of all the crawling babies. Anna rang me straight afterwards to make sure it all went smoothly. We were even more excited when we received another phone call from the Bettina girls to say Benji had been chosen for another audition for bonds. After the audition Anna rang with great news - Benji was to attend a photoshoot with Bonds. Another busy day under the lights, with makeup, hair etc. It was wonderful to meet new friends and get a sneaky preview of the new Bonds outfits to hit the racks in August. Thanks Anna - Fun times - Keep the calls coming! Nicola Crumlin
Annalise McLachlan – Dolly Magazine (ads/mags/print)
Hello Anna, A BIG BIG THANKYOU to Bettina for helping me get the Dolly magazine photo shoot. My name is Annalise I am 11 years old and I had the best day ever! First of all I got to meet Jessie, she is the fashion editor for Dolly magazine. Jessie was so funny and super cool. Then I was introduced to Samantha, she was in charge of hair and makeup and then Paul who was the photographer they were all so friendly to me. I got to wear four different outfits and my hair was styled different everytime. Jessie, Sam and Paul were so much fun they made feel like a princess. The outfits I wore were really great I loved how Jessie mixed and matched and put the outfits together. Jessie told us that Dolly are launching a new magazine and I will be in the very first issue it is called "ShopGirl" and is going to be like a teen "Vogue". The magazine will be out in September and I can't wait to see it. Thankyou to mum and dad for taking me to Sydney and thankyou Bettina for making my dreams come true XO Annalise McLachlan.
"Here is the final image we went with that will be used in the upcoming Sony campaign, they will be in store and in the press! Thanks for helping us out and thank Hannah for me! The shots came out great; she must be a natural." Sarah Kozien (Production Coordinator referring to Bettina Management's Hannah Dallon)
"Thanks again for assisting and pass our best onto little Amelia – she was an absolute angel truly! Best regards" Hollie Felstead (Publicist referring to Bettina Management's Amelia Grace)
"Hi Anna, just wanting to thank you again for the opportunity to get work, and finally see the results. l have just checked the Just Jeans website and l am on there. I had such a great time doing the shoot and the girls from Just Jeans, the makeup artist and photographer were so much fun. Also l just picked up the Chem-Mart catalogue and l am on the front page with little Freddie. I have attached the front page for you to see." Ashlin Collins
"Dear Anna, thank you so much for recommending Erion for a part in Home & Away. Don't think he got this one. What they asked for was how tall all the boys are. Erion has grown and was the tallest of all the boys there. Maybe they were after a certain height, but he always comes out laughing and tells me "that was fun!" Thank you for giving Erion a great future. With all the experience, we don't give up. Anna, thank you for believing in Erion. We both love you." Erion Ramljak & Diana Ramljak
"Dear Bettina Team, just a short note to thank you for giving Rosie the opportunity to participate in the Australian Fashion Design Festival parade at Pacific Fair on Thursday. She had a wonderful time, her mother was much more nervous!! It was valuable experience for her and she is already asking when her next "job" will be! Many thanks" Rachel James (Mother of Rosabelle)
"Hi Anna, we would like to thank you all for your help and suggestions for our recent Suncorp campaign. The agency has shortlisted the job to 4 girls which they will be organising recalls for. The agency was very impressed with the amount of excellent talent that were available and we would like to thank you and your talent for the effort that was put into the auditions. Look forward to working with you all on the next one. Regards" Ben and Michelle,
Ben Parkinson Casting (Suncorp Campaign)
"Dear Anna, my daughter, Penny Cafios (2 ½) recently appeared in Shop 4 Kids. This was her first photo shoot with Bettina Management and she absolutely loved the whole modelling experience. Penny was already a confident child, but something about wearing gorgeous clothing, getting her hair and make-up done (Penny was the only child there that did not hesitate for make-up touch ups) and taking photos, has made her more confident. She was delighted to see herself in the magazine and cannot stop talking about the whole experience. I have recommended Bettina Management to two of my friends, both have little boys. One has already signed up and the other is in the process of coming in for an interview. I would like to thank you so much for the wonderful experience and I hope that more work comes Penny's way in the future. Kindest regards" Gabriella Cafios (Mother of Penny)
"Hi Anna, we would like to say thank you for the castings you have sent Baeley. He enjoyed the Aqua Blu shoot but the Aldi shoot he loved. He loves the beach and enjoyed his shoot in the water even though it was cold. Also the parading of RM Willams clothing at Milson's point (where) he (really) enjoyed strutting his stuff. Thank you for the joy of watching his confidence grow with each casting or shoot he goes to." Kerrie Recchia (mother of Baeley)
"Just wanted to say a huge thank you to all of the staff of Bettina Management and to Andy Tavares of Attitude Studios. Since our first phone conversation a week ago to yesterday's portfolio photos we have encountered nothing but professionalism and enthusiasm from everyone. All have shown an understanding of a child's nature (especially that of a toddlers) and has let him be his natural self which has allowed him to enjoy every minute of it showing in his confidence to interact with the management team. Yesterday's photo shoot with Andy was fantastic. Blake felt at ease the whole time and didn't stop talking about it with his dad later on in the night. I was very pleased when Andy had enough time to take a few photos of myself with Blake even managing to make me look good too - I cant wait to show them to the family when they arrive. Sincerely" Melinda Livera (Mother of Blake - 25 months old)
Kanoie Holland - K-Mart Photoshoot
Mummy drove me to Noosa. I watched the babies do their photo's first. Then it was my turn with another funny boy. Amber tickled me alot and I laughed and smiled. My baby brother, Chi was watching me. I jumped and splashed in the water, that was fun. I can't wait to do it again. I smiled lots and lots and lots. I had lots of fun. By Kanoie
Kai Dickson - New Idea /Target Shoot
Hi Anna, Kai and I had a great time at the shoot thank you so much to Bettina, the whole photo crew and fashion people were lovely. I can't believe just how much Kai loved it and didn't complain once when he was wearing tracksuits on a very hot day. Hehe… he had so much fun. It was such a beautiful spot too where the shoot was at the Basin. We had a bit of a scare with some big goannas which actually made the day even more interesting. When we got there we found out that we knew the other 4 year old girl in the shoot too which was good. Anyway thank you again and Kai cant wait to do further shoots that might come his way. Kai and his Mum
Indiana Garlick - Milo TV Commercial
Hello Everyone, I am so excited to tell you all that I am featured on the new Milo TV Commercial!!!!! I am the little netballer. My name is Indiana Garlick and I am 8 years old. I have long brown hair and green eyes and am looking very serious in the ad! I have seen it about 10 times in the last few days, so exciting!!! I had the BEST time making the ad and would like to say a HUGE thank you to Bettina Model Management for inviting me to the casting. It was an unbelievable experience and I can now say - I have the acting bug! Thank you to everyone involved in getting me my first job, I now look forward to many more. Many Thanks, Indiana Garlick.
Tyla Korvemaa - 'Tomorrow' Short Film
My daughter Tyla Korvemaa was called in for a casting to be in a short film production called "Tomorrow". Being a shy girl I was surprised when we received a phone call saying that Tyla had got the part. The first two weeks were hectic with photo shoots and on location rehearsals. The main shooting of the film happened in the first week of the NSW School Holidays and Tyla attended shootings at Petersham Railway Station, Balmain Hospital, Botany Bay National Park and a Suburban Street. There are 4 main characters in the film with Tyla playing the character of Amy. Tyla's Great Grandmother was asked if she could attend a shooting where only her hands would be filmed knitting the "yellow scarf". Tyla was thrilled and so was her Great Grandmother (Mary), you're never too young to learn new things! Tyla thoroughly enjoyed the experience (she doesn't stop talking about it) and I wish to thank Bettina Management for putting her forward. Christie Korvemaa
Lily Millington - Golden Crumpets TVC
Hi Anna, just a quick note to say Lily had a fab time on Thursday filming the Golden Crumpet commercial. It became very hot by the afternoon in the kitchen she was filming in but she kept on going like a true professional. I had some lovely feedback from everyone there, so it was quite difficult getting my head out of the door at the end of the day. I hope you receive the same and they weren't just being nice to me. Thanks again for everything you have done. Regards, Lily and Lily's Mum, Tina.
Montana Banning - Bloch Shoes
Hi everyone at Bettina's. Montana Banning here (7 years old), to say thank you for my first ever modelling job with Bloch shoes. I really liked all the shoes and clothes, in one photo I had to wear 9 tutu's as one dress, it was lots fun. I had my hair and makeup done by Paul and I was dressed by Peter. I got to hold all different things like balloons and sunglasses but everything was white except for the shoes. I made a new friend…her name is Lauren, and everyone was really nice. I can't wait to do some more modelling jobs. Lots of Love Montana
Jacob and Caleb Howard - Chanel 9 Pilot Show
Hello everyone, during the first week of the October school holidays we went for our first audition. We had to go to a place in Stanmore and we had to pretend to interview people. It was fun. Some of the questions were very silly. A week later they called mum and asked if we could go back but this time if we could be dressed up in suits (smart clothes). It was pretty much doing the same thing as the first audition. About two weeks later Mum got another call to say we got the job! Wow, it was so exciting! We had to go to Channel 9 studios and interview Deni Hines. On the day, we had to be there by 8:30am. Then they took us to have our hair done. Georgie Parker stopped us in the hallway and gave us a hug and wished us luck. Then it was time to get into our tuxedos. When we were dressed we were taken to where we had to interview Deni. The place was great for hide and seek. We had fun interviewing Deni and she had her photo taken with us. We like Deni, she was really nice. Now we are waiting to film in front of a live studio audience with the host. We will let you know when we are going to be on TV. We are so excited to be doing this! Jacob and Caleb Howard
Hi Anna, I just wanted to send you a quick note to thankyou for your assistance and advice last week. Alanna and I had a great time at Phillip Island filming the Holden Captiva shoot. It started with very nice accommodation at the Quays Motel at San Remo. The great team at AJF Partnership (Production Team), who took good care of us- especially with a gourmet breakfast (at 6:00am), then wardrobe and makeup before being driven to the set. Everyone made sure we were fed, comfortable, and involved with what was filming at all times. Alanna was fussed over and responded with great performances (as director Cameron said). She was so excited having a "new family" and a puppy to hold in a few of the takes, and her enthusiasm made the crew laugh. It is due to be screened from the 13th of April nationally. What a wonderful industry and so interesting from behind the camera. The confidence it has given Alanna is fabulous and shows, as she is not fazed by cameras, props or anything put to her to try. It was a fantastic opportunity and an experience we won't forget. Thanks Anna! Best Wishes, Andrew (Alanna's Dad)
Alanna Purchase - Holden TVC
Hi Anna, Dad and I had the best time at Phillip Island filming the Ad for Holden. It was so cool, I was a big sister with a new mum and dad and a little brother, and a puppy called Murphy. At the start we had the best brecky even though we got up at 6 o'clock, and it was still dark when we finished eating. After brecky Nadia chose my clothes to wear and Eve put my hair in a ponytail for my look. When everybody was ready Lucy (producer) drove us to the holiday house where the car was already being filmed on its own. After a little while, we did our family poses filming with a different colour car, before another car was brought in for me and "my brother" to be filmed by our self through the back hatch. I was looked after all the time by Jess and the girls and they kept me warm when we weren't filming. I liked pretending to be a family and the other actors were really lovely. I loved doing the ad and I can't wait to see what it looks like on tele. Thank you sooo much Anna for putting me up for the Ad and I can't wait to do another one. Bye, Alanna xx

"Dear Anna, Thank-you so much for giving Erion a chance for a part in a movie. He was so excited and learned his part in one day. I was so proud of him. I guess it's like winning a lottery ticket with so many kids trying out. But thank-you so much he always looks forward to all his castings THANK-YOU ANNA" Diana Ramljak (parent of Erion)

"Hi Anna…The children we think would be a good fit are Jenna Louise Redfern, Alexandra Zekis, Grace Carr, Anis Warrack (all your children are absolutely stunning though!)...I would like to take this opportunity to thankyou so much for your assistance and should the children work out, we will be casting them in an August shoot for Winter 2009. Kindest regards" Kim Lutman (Production Co-ordinator - Peace Street)
"Just thought l would drop you a note to let you know that all went well today with Ashlin's photo shoot. The photographers and guys from the Agency were very easy going which made Ashlin's experience very comfortable and enjoyable… To experience the set and the thrill of being part of a "live shoot" for the first time is something she (and I) will remember for a long time… Ashlin was so excited and loved being a "Model" for a while. Just what she needed given she was becoming disheartened after being enrolled for 12 mths without any success. Thanks again for the opportunity. Kind Regards" Tania Collins (Ashlin's Mum – Chemmart)
Hi Anna, Jake attended a Photo Shoot yesterday for an Innovations Summer Catalogue. Melissa & Peter at Peter Cole Photography were most professional and made Jake & I feel very welcomed. Jake had an awesome time with many smiles taken. Thanks to the Bettina team and yourself for putting Jake forward and allowing Jake (and Mum) to experience this wonderful opportunity. Christie Korvemaa (Mother of Jake)
Hi there, thank you for giving Anaise the opportunity to participate in Jessica Orsic's (AMG teacher) acting class on Monday. We had a great time and Anaise really enjoyed the experience. Jessica was wonderful with the kids and she gave us some very helpful tips for attending casting auditions. Lucy Nagy (Mother of Anaise)
Dear Anna, I just wanted to let you know how gorgeous, professional and delightful to work with the twins and their mum Karen were. I would recommend those guys to anybody! The twins were so placid and smiley and so well behaved. If only my kid was that easy going! I will send some printed catalogue samples as soon as we have them. Thanks again! Yana Gotmaker (Oi Oi 'Baby Bags') - Grace & Charlotte White
"Just a little note to say thank you for giving Mia Zanardo the opportunity to strut her stuff last Thursday. She had a ball and made lots of new friends on the way. Lately she has been a little shy but she did not let anything faze her and her confidence amazed me. She can't wait till her next assignment. Please pass on my congratulations and thanks to the organisers for the care of our children and a fantastic show. As someone who works in the industry, I know how hard it can be to work with children. Kind regards" Larissa Zanardo (Mother of Mia)
"Just wanted to thankyou for giving Jade the opportunity to be a part of Rosemount Fashion Week. After an initial reluctance (someone else got to wear her frock) Jade had a fantastic time getting dressed up and walking down the catwalk and even told the channel 10 news crew that she 'had lots of fun at the concert and her favourite part was the dancing'???@@## hmmnnn not sure about the concert/dancing bit- but she definitely enjoyed herself and has constantly been practising her catwalk and air kisses since- trying to coax her little brother into being part of it. With all the media coverage the festival received it was quite a bit exciting seeing Jade on the evening news and in the Sydney Telegraph the following day (which Jade proudly took to kindy for show-and-tell).Thanks again. Laura Bell (Mother of Jade - 3 years)
"My name is Josh! I was pretty excited when mum told me I was going to be on an ad on T.V. It's for St John Ambulance. This was my first job so I didn't know what was going to happen. On the first day I had to wear a school uniform and I had to pretend to walk to school. The next day they filmed me and some kids on a school bus. My favourite part was going for a ride on the bus. I had lots of fun meeting new friends! I can't wait to watch it on tv. I liked it and I want to do it again soon." Joshua Grant "Hello, I wanted to send a quick message. My son had his first job for a TV advertisement on the weekend. I was very impressed with the professionalism and friendliness of the crew. Joshua had so much fun, I am so pleased Joshua had such a positive experience filming the commercial. I am so proud of him: following instructions and making new friends. So thank you for such a wonderful opportunity and now he can't wait for his next job! Thanks again! Have a great day p.s How can we find out when the ad for St John Ambulance will be aired and which channels?" Fiona Grant (parent of Joshua)
"Hey Anna, A big thankyou from Zane and I through out the castings for Fashion Festival yay!!!! Also I would like to arrange for an appointment for my daughter to join if possible. Could you please let me know what steps I should take to go ahead? Thanks again" Celeste Darwich (Mother of Dane)
Mia Thomson (Myer Shoot)
"My name is Mia Thomson, I was the only person being photographed that day but that didn't matter because all the working people were really friendly. It was really fun snuggling up in a doona on the bed. I liked laughing with everyone when we took the photos. Everyone was so nice and they made me feel like I was their friend already."
Emma Campbell - ANZ TV Commercial
On Saturday 30th of August I went to the filming for the ANZ Bank ad for TV. They filmed it at Wesley College. I had to dress in old fashioned clothes and do a Spelling Bee. There was a lot of waiting around but it was REALLY FUN!!! They did my hair in 2 pony tails. The ad will be on TV on the 29th of September. I am so excited and I hope I get to do more ads!!!
Francesca Lucin – "Knowing" (Movie)
To Anna, While doing filming for "Knowing" I thought that it was an exciting and fun experience. It was interesting to see how they film movies and I was glad to be part of it. The day was well organised and everyone was really friendly and nice. Everyone had to put in a big effort and there was lots of teamwork involved. I met some really nice people and we had some good laughs while waiting in the freezing cold for the filming to be done! The makeup and costumes were simple and effective and were done fairly quickly and professionally. Overall, I enjoyed the day and I had fun. It was a good experience.
Karren White (Mother of Charlotte and Grace – OiOi Shoot)
Nine month old twins Charlotte and Grace White went to their first photo shoot on Thursday 24th of July for Oi Oi Sophisticated Baby Bags (http://www.oioi.com.au). It was your typical Melbourne winter morning freezing and foggy and Charlotte and Grace had to be at St Kilda pier at 9am to shoot the Oi Oi summer catalogue. We were very excited and didn't know what to expect but the Oi Oi team were very professional and made us all feel very comfortable. It turned out to be a beautiful sunny day and photos were taken on and around St Kilda pier and St Kilda beach where a crowd gathered to watch the shoot take place. The girls had so much fun getting lots of cuddles and attention from the Oi Oi team. Charlotte and Grace loved their time in the spot light and didn't cry or complain all day – we are very proud and can't wait to see the photos.
Pasquel Williams (Mother of Jamie)
Jamie who is 4 years old lived out his boyhood fantasy when asked to pose as a fireman for his first assignment with Bettina and Radio Warehouse. He said he 'loved balancing on the box' and 'practising my strong face'. Aside from the thrill of wearing the fireman's hat and braces, Jamie had a lot of fun with the photographer, who helped keep up Jamie's energy and attention with regular treats from the lolly bag! He is very much looking forward to his next assignment, who knows he may be able to be Superman next!
Amy Bryant - St John Ambulance (TVC)
Hello, My name is Amy Bryant, I am 9 years old and I joined Bettina in May this year. Just being accepted into Bettina was exciting enough, so can you imagine how I felt when mum told me last week that I had been chosen to be involved in a St John Ambulance TV commercial here in Perth. I had a great time, I was very scared at first but by the end of the day I was really enjoying myself. I would like to say a BIG thank-you to all the crew that was involved they were very nice to me. What a fun day, and what a fun thing to have done, all my friends at school enjoyed hearing about it. Now we can't wait to see what the advert is going to look like on the TV. Thank you again Amy.
Jayden Grey – Big W & Rosemount Fashion Model
Hi, my name is Jayden & I just recently did a photo shoot with Maui & Sons for the Big W catalogue. We did the shoot on a beach where it was nice and sunny. I met 3 other kids and we had a great time playing around on the beach. It hardly seemed like work! We even saw dolphins swimming by. I also did the Rosemount Fashion Festival. This was a completely different experience. A lot of rehearsing with other kids and a lot of photographers and lights on the final runway show. It was still a lot of fun! This show was even covered on the news.
Nikahla Short - Razza Stockings
I am writing to let you know how much fun I had recently doing the photo shoot for "Razza". I have been missing my front teeth and didn't think that I had a chance when I went for the casting. When mum picked me up from school and said that I had the job, I was so excited. I had great fun. Seriously, all I had to do was jump on a trampoline and have fun!! My brothers love the money …… I just love seeing the photos!!
Jessica McCann - "The Lost Child " (Movie)
Hi, my name is Jessica McCann, and on Tuesday I went to the Channel 9 Studios. I woke up so excited about being filmed for the day. At 9 am, me and my mum were met by the producer. The producer went though what would be happening for the Film Shoot "The Lost Child ", and what I needed to do. We went to North Sydney where they were going to film. I was asked to stand on the street and to look sad and lost, to see if people would stop and ask me if I had lost my mum. I found it to be fun and had a great time being filmed. The producer said I was great at taking directions, and that I was a great little actress. There were another two children also doing the shoot. I had a great time talking with the other girl. They finished filming at 1pm and we were taken back to Channel 9 Studios. I had so much fun that I would like to do it again. This was my first job and it was fun and I learnt a lot. Everyone was so great and nice that I wanted to do more. Thank you to Bettina. I can't wait for it to be shown on Channel 9, so I can show all my family and friends.
Keefe Goh – ANZ TV Commercial (with Mum, Bridget)
Hi, my name is Keefe. I had an exciting day on Saturday shooting an ANZ bank TV commercial. It was at Wesley College. From the minute we arrived on site early in the morning, everything was run in a very professional way. First I had to go to Wardrobe to put on my TV clothes. Next I went to Makeup – the lady put a bit of gel on the top of my hair and said "Perfect, he doesn't need a hair cut". For the TV commercial, I was one of the kids in a spelling bee on a stage in the school auditorium. I sat in the front row behind the boy who had to spell 'Mortgage' but he spelt it 'Morgage' (on purpose for the ad). There were so many crew members it was like making a blockbuster movie! Every crew member knew exactly what they had to do and they worked together like a jigsaw puzzle. There was even a nurse to look after us and the crew – she brought everyone water and asked people if they were cold when waiting outdoors and gave them blankets if they were cold. We also had a security man to look after us when we had to wait outside the set during breaks. It made us feel very special. There was a truck which had a kitchen inside where they cooked our breakfast and lunch. Everyone was very nice and friendly. In the afternoon, about 50 extras arrived who were all grown-ups who had to be the audience for the spelling bee. Mum even got to be an extra and had to wear 70's clothes (What are the 70's?). The kids didn't finish till 4 pm so it was a long day. But we kept ourselves amused in between takes. Everyone whipped out their Nintendo DS Lites when there was a long break and we laughed and talked about the games we were playing. Thanks, Bettina for the opportunity to be in the TV commercial and to Anna for organising everything.
Nikki Hennekam (Mother of Taylah - Dimmeys)
Being our first photo shoot Taylah was very excited about trying out her poses. We headed to Dimmey's head office in Footscray where we met Dorothy and the photographer, who made us feel very welcome. The first two outfits were a skirt and top combo and then we moved onto the girly dress ups, a ballerina outfit, a dress with feather boa and a fairy dress. Taylah says "I loved trying on all the clothes, my favourite was the ballerina outfit and I did some ballet." She had a Blast! It was a great experience for Taylah and we cannot wait to see the finished product. The staff at Bettina were fantastic to deal with and very helpful with everything. Thanks heaps, Nikki
Madeleine Ang 9 yrs (St John Ambulance TVC)
My experience of being in a commercial is one of the best experiences of my entire life. All the crew were very nice to me and I felt I could be myself around them. I am so grateful to be offered such a great opportunity like this one! On the 1st day of filming the St Johns Ambulance commercial, the morning started off being extremely foggy and I thought they wouldn't film because of it. But to my surprise it turned out to be a bright beautiful day! We filmed part of the commercial at a home in Cottesloe where I played the part of a school girl. On the second day the crew filmed at a Primary School in Fremantle. They filmed us in the classroom and in the school library. The crew had a lot of big cameras and equipment to do things like the brightness and the sound. I learnt a lot about filming and that it takes quite a few takes and practices to get it perfect. Being in a commercial was so exiting and fun and it was also a learning experience for me. I can't wait until I get another call to say I have been chosen for another exciting job with Bettina. Thank you!
Amelia Grace – Diva Stores/Leona Edminston/Clever Clothing Company
My name is Amelia Grace and I am 7 years old. My first professional job was for Diva Jewellery. I modelled for a new Diva range for younger kids called ''Little Diva''. This was a fun and exciting adventure for me as my hair was done by a professional hairdresser and I got dressed up in a ballerina outfit. My photograph is in the Diva Store and also in Total Girl magazine. On Monday the 28th of July I went to a photo shoot to model for Leona Edminston. This was for her next winter's collection. The clothes were funky and cool. I also helped a little 5 year old girl and showed her how to model the clothes. It was a long shoot but I had a lot of fun and I enjoyed it."
Lucy Abroon - Cedar Boys (Feature Film)
I was really surprised when my Mum told me I had a role in a movie called Cedar Boys. I didn't even have to audition because the Director had seen me in another role that I had in a mini series called East West 101 and he wanted me for this part. I played the part of Aya, the sister of one of the main characters in the show. I enjoyed playing the part very much, and it was such fun hanging out with the cast, and Serhat, the director, was so cool. When I was finished, I was given a Hanna Montana CD and a bunch of beautiful flowers. I had such a great time. Lucy.
Carolyn Birks – Parent of Jameson
Jameson has completed filming 20 episodes for the new TV series "All for Kids". Each week he makes an exciting new experiment and gets to test it out. We have been to many great places such as an archaeological dig to try and find interesting things from the past, one being a skeleton. We have also seen an exhibition on dinosaurs and tested out gravity with rock climbing. The experience has been amazing and we are working with some really wonderful people. The experiments are fun and interesting, we always expect the unexpected. Jameson has a lab set up in is garage which we use and has set up an area were he places all of his experiments each week. We have quite a collection going of different things such as an exploding volcano, a rocket we launched using water and one of Jameson's favourite… SLIME! We are so proud to be involved in this production and look forward to its launch which is not too far away. Thank you for this opportunity. Thank you, Kind Regards, Carolyn and Jameson Birks.
Mark Trainor – Knowing (Movie)
Working on Knowing has been an amazing experience, I feel very lucky to have been a photographic double and stand in for Chandler. We had fun together and still keep in touch by email. Chandler even came to watch me play footy one Sunday and I had a sleep over at his place, and we watched DVD's, played his Wii and ate pizza. Seeing how a movie is made and how many times they do the same over and over and over has been cool. It was incredible to see the same house up at Mt Macedon and in 2 different studios at the docklands. The car scenes were great too; we got to go in the cars in the green screen. Meeting Nicholas Cage was great, he was really nice. All the people on the set were nice and treated me like a star too. I really liked it when I was actually filmed, especially with the rabbits up at Mt Macedon. I made some new friends with Chandler, Amelia (Lara's photographic double), Lara, and Jake and Cory who were stand-ins for Chandler, we all swapped presents after filming was over. Our tutor on the set Barbara was really good, we played some great games when we were doing lessons and waiting to go on set. She helped me with work for school. The food that we got on set was yummy too, especially the lollies. When we worked up at Mt Macedon it was fun having breakfast at 5pm in the afternoon and everyone said good morning because they had been filming all night and sleeping all day. I hope I get to do something like this again.
"Hi Anna…The shoot with Harley actually went so well with time that it was all done in less than half an hour – you may want to pass on the message – thanks to Harley for being a true professional and that it was a pleasure working with him – very easy to shoot." Nick Pasitchnyj, NCP Design
Hi Anna, Just letting you know that Amelia Grace was FANTASTIC yesterday!! So professional - didn't complain at all, was beautifully presented, was well behaved and very charming. Her pictures look absolutely beautiful!! Caitlin Irving (Elise Garland Public Relations)
"Hi Anna, Just wanted to say thanks to you and Shania for your time at the shoot yesterday. I think it went really well and Shania is a little hollywood starlet in the making! Kind Regards" Catherine Archer (Brand Manager, Smiths Snackfoods)
"Anna, last night while out shopping Shania and I happen to go down the aisle with the Sakata rice crackers. We were very excited to see the new packaging with herself and Dr Fruitloop. I just wanted to say thank you and that they look great and it was a good surprise. We have the whole family going out to buy them now. It was also a great experience for her. Kind Regards, Melissa" Melissa Eades (parent of Shania Gavin)
"Hi Anna, We have decided to go with Lilly O Toole. Thank you for selecting such a great face. You certainly nailed it first go and we will be contacting you for some more work shortly." Raffael Galardi (Director, Halo Agency® International)
"On Wednesday 3rd March two of Bettina's brightest stars, Mia O'Neil and Xnakzia Serfonteyn were queens of the catwalk during the Mini Me Collection parade, held at Prahran Town Hall as part of the 2008 L'Oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival. The gorgeous girls looked sensational in the hottest new trends by leading Australian designers including Country Road and Small Paul by Paul Frank. Casting the perfect child for the job is often a very difficult and time consuming task. It is always a pleasure to work with Bettina Management, as I am assured of access to amazing talent, as well as the most helpful and professional service in the industry." Madeleine Farrelly, The ARC Factory
"I just wanted to say how impressed I was with the professionalism of staff at Bettina's. Last week my daughter Caiti was called to have an interview with Sharon. (We've been bitten before with a bogus agency so I was extremely wary!!) Sharon was an absolute angel! So lovely and she genuinely treated Caiti (and myself) as if we were family. The next day we received a call from a lady in Victoria inviting Caiti to join Bettina's!! She set up a date for the photo shoot the following day where we were greeted with more lovely Bettina's staff! Caiti had an absolute ball with the photographer who was a gem! Hopefully this may be the start of Caiti's dreams coming true! Thank you to you all!" Julie Hoare (Parent of Caiti)
Kaela Martin – Knowing (Movie)
Dear Anna & Bettina, being a part of the movie called 'Knowing' was a wonderful experience. At the wardrobe fitting I made a new friend called Jade (she is also with Bettina). Jade and I had fun, we had our hair cut shorter and had to wear olden day clothes. I made so many new friends but a man would do the loudest whistle which meant get ready to be quiet. Then he would call out "rolling" which meant they were filming and we weren't allowed to move or talk. When it was my turn to be a part of the movie I had to play outside with a hula hoop...It was weird to be finished because I knew I wouldn't see those people again. But I will keep in touch with Jade. I now have a pen pal. I am disappointed that I didn't see Nicolas Cage but I cannot wait to see the movie 'Knowing" and see all my new friends and hopefully myself. And my mum said we can even buy the movie when it comes out…Thank you Anna and Bettina for this experience and fun. From Kaela
Charlie Levine – Knowing (Movie)
Dear Anna, Thankyou so much for nominating me to be an extra in the filming of the movie The Knowing last week. It was a great experience and I learnt heaps about the movie world and making movies generally…The movie is set in the 1950's so we all had to have really short hair-cuts which were pretty funny. We went to wardrobe where I was given school-boy tight pants and an old fashioned shirt from those times. The girls looked great in full skirts and head bands like they wore in the old days.
We then had a quick breakfast in the hall and then I was chosen along with eighteen other children to be in the class-room scene. This took all Thursday to film!! Each take had to be recorded many times over till they had just the right look. We had to pretend to draw in class, clap[with no sound] and say Good Morning to the Teacher. There were lights, camera guys, smoke machines and fashion designers in the tiny class-room with us. It was great fun. On Friday we filmed a scene in the playground with all the kids on set. It was amazing to see the huge cameras on big boom cranes swinging over the top of us to get the right shots. By Saturday we had to be on set at 7.00am and we were all getting a bit tired but still enjoying the experience. This day we filmed a school fair with balloons and fairground activities. All in all I learnt so much from this amazing experience and would recommend any other kids to give it a go if you get the opportunity to be in a film!!! Thanks so much Anna for all your help!! Charlie Levine
Annabelle Mummery - Knowing (Movie)
I worked for three days on the movie "Knowing" as an extra and it was very interesting! I really enjoyed it and would love to do it again. We got to see and meet Nicholas Cage! We also got to see how a movie was made and how many times a scene had to be taken. We met the director, camera crew and manager. There were around one hundred kids, aged between five and thirteen. I made some new friends and played with them during the breaks. We also got free lunch and drinks, (that was a bonus). It was extremely exciting, full of new experiences and really fun. Annabelle (10 years)
Darcy Innes – Pura Milk (TVC)
I really liked being in the harness because I got thrown up in the air lots of times and it will look like I got hit by a car. I also got to eat 3 ice poles and that was cool. The people were very friendly It was very weird having a pretend mum and dad for the show. I also had to wear a neck brace and it felt really strange. I had a great day and felt happy. I loved doing the stunt. Darcy
Tiahn Mabarrack - Elise (Film)
Starring in the feature film Elise was a great experience for me I met so many new people including Natalie Imbruglia it was very exiting to meet her. I was in Adelaide for 5 weeks we stayed in a nice hotel at the beach with my family. We filmed at different locations including the beach and two different houses. It was fun to have my hair and make-up done every day and wear the different clothes from the wardrobe department. I am looking forward to going to the premier later in the year. Tiahn Mabarrack
Heath Thorpe – Dulux & Castle Hampers (TVC)
Hi everyone my name is Heath Thorpe, last year in the school holidays in April I did a Dulux ad in Point Cook. There was Me and Mandela and the sheepdog Zoro, I had to cuddle Zoro while Mandela was meant to be my sister, it is going to be on a paint can. IT WAS GREAT FUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The last school holidays I went to Hoppers Crossing to make a T.V commercial. It was for Castle Hampers. I made another friend Hannah who was also meant to be my sister too. We won the hamper so we had to open all the boxes with toys and food it was Christmas as well. It was a long day and I was tired but it was the best fun. Thanks to Anna for all the help she is great. Love Heath Thorpe - My Mum had a great time too.
Jacinta Warren - Studio Bambini (March Issue)
Hi, I was so excited the morning that I woke up for my Studio Bambini modelling shoot. We actually had to take a ferry to Cockatoo Island which has a lot of history attached to it. It used to be a former convicts gaol and later a shipbuilding yard. When we arrived at the island, I felt like a princess as my nails were painted and my hair was styled by a professional stylist. That was really cool. Then we got to change into various designer outfits like Escada, Diesel, Marithe & Francois Girbaud and Replika. The clothes and shoes were very beautiful and I thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. It was a very long day as the shoot took all day long and ended at 4.00pm. It was worth the effort when I saw my pictures in the March issue of Studio Bambini. I took it to school the next day to show my friends the beautiful pictures. I am also mailing the magazine to my grandma who lives in Singapore and my aunt who lives in France. Thank you Studio Bambini and Bettina Management for giving me this great opportunity.
"Tate has just finished the shoot with Dulux. He was there from 10am until almost 1am. He had a fantastic time and they were very pleased with Tate. They told him that this was special for him and it was good that everything went so well as it was a big buy out for five years. So he has left there very pleased with himself.
Thanks again for the job! Karina Short (Parent of Tate Short)
"Pierson was a pro!!!" Jeff Tutin - Kma/06 (Pierson Barton)
"Thank you so much for sending us Pierson. He was wonderful and the parents were great." Gemma Crofts, Merry Productions
"…A big thank you to Tate and Niki too – they were great to work with and extremely professional given their age!" Bec Kempster, The ARC Factory (Bettina talent: Tate and Niki)
"Olivia attended the Bettina Model short course last night at Maribyrnong Community Centre with Sarah. It was really good fun and she learnt much about the catwalk and posing. Thank you for providing this valuable training/experience. Regards, Gillian" (Parent of Olivia Moffatt)
"…awesome quality models, very professional behaviour from subject and parents thank you." Angus Skeoch (Stella Maris College) (Bettina talent: Amy Li, Taylor Handel, Melissa Whitelaw, Merinda Ceaser, Tiarne Baker, Sally Hang, Keisha Macalpine & Maryam Lindbom)
"you guys have great kids!" Louise Quill - Chameleon Casting
"Hi Mary, I am writing to thank you and the staff involved in my son's portfolio photos. I received them yesterday and could not believe how great they looked. The shots look so natural and they present him very well. The photographer was excellent with Nicolas as he has previously been a shy boy when it comes to strangers. I can't wait to see the finished proof sheet and I look forward to a positive response by your clients. Thanks once again, Regards, Tabatha Burrowes" (Parent of Nicolas Akers)
Giulia Little – Passion 4 Fashion Awards
Hello everyone, my name is Giulia Little and I have been enrolled with Bettina Management for 4 months. On Sunday 9th September I was selected to be one of the models for the "Passion 4 fashion Design Awards" at Myer in Melbourne. This was my first job and my first ever catwalk in front of the public. I have always loved modelling and often at home, while playing with my friends, I pretend to be a model. When Bettina called me and offered me this opportunity, I could not believe it….. It was like a dream come true!!! On the day I woke up very early in the morning and went to Myer with my mum. I was very excited and nervous at the same time. In the changing room (behind the stage) I met the girls who were assisting in the preparation of the function and they were all very nice, helpful and very well organized. I also met the other girls who were going to do the catwalk with me and we were all sharing the same feelings of excitement and joy. I then tried the two dresses I was going to wear in the parade: one was "Little red riding hood", competing for the best senior design award in the fancy dress category. The other outfit I wore was competing for the best junior design award in the casual wear category. We practiced a few times the catwalk on the stage. After that we all had make-up and our hair done. How nice!!! I felt like a little princess! Then we were told that it was time for the parade to start. My heart was pounding, but I thought, that's it… the time has come ….. And I did the catwalk. It was just great! I then realised that it was not frightening after all and I was really enjoying it so much. We did the catwalk many times and since the designers of both outfits I was wearing won, I got to parade with them as well a few times. Things could not be any better!!! Lots of celebrities were on the stage, and I was so proud to be there…. Lots and lots of photos were taken and our parade was also filmed by some TV channels. Even at the end of the parade, when almost everyone was gone and I was in the changing room, they called me back on the stage. I put the casual outfit back on in a hurry and went back on the stage, as Sophia Andrade, the Designer of my dress, was being interviewed for the news and they needed me next to her.
Then, just before leaving Myer a few more photos of us were taken by Bettina.
What a day! What an experience! And to make things even better, in the evening they showed the parade on the news! Thanks Bettina for giving me this opportunity and I really hope there will be for me many occasions like this in the future. Thanks, Giulia
Finn Rowley - Passion 4 Fashion Awards
On the 9th of September 2007 I took part in the Melbourne Spring Fashion Week Bratz Passion for Fashion Awards. During the show we wore two costumes each. I wore a lady bug costume and a fairy princess costume which were fantastic. During the practice I felt really nervous, but when it came to the real thing I felt confident because my mum was there to support me. During the show, I saw a number of celebrities which was exciting. Before we went onto the catwalk I had my hair and makeup done. My hair was put into curls by the makeup girls, which complimented both costumes. The whole event was a wonderful experience and I feel so lucky to have been involved. I can definitely say it was one of the best days ever. I really hope I can do it again someday. Thanks, Finn
Thank you for letting me experience what many dads don't get the opportunity to do, seeing their kids in action in an exciting world few of us know. Everyone behind the scenes was fantastic! The event staff did a superb job. They were approachable, helpful and always available to assist the parents when it was time for rehearsals or reserving good seats for the Fashion Awards. Emma and Sarah had everyone on schedule, and, kept everyone relaxed, as did the girls' minders who took good care of them. The Passion 4 Fashion Design Awards were spectacular, the girls looked gorgeous, and as a parent I was very proud when Alanna was on stage in front of the judges, people and cameras without showing any nerves. I would like to thank Bettina Management for giving her the skills to accomplish this and look forward to sharing new experiences with you over the coming years. Thanks again, I look forward to the next time. By the way, Alanna's picture in the Herald Sun was just the icing on the cake. Regards, Andrew Purchase (Alanna's dad)
Bratz Passion 4 Fashion Awards – Alanna Purchase (with Alana's Dad, Andrew)
Hi my name is Alanna, and on Sunday I got the chance to do modelling on the catwalk for the Passion 4 Fashion Design Awards. I had a great time, even my brother was jealous so much, how well we got looked after. It was great fun talking to the other girls and I met a new friend which was cool. We had a lady look after us and help us change clothes, and a hairdresser and make-up artist to do our make-up. We practiced before everyone got there so we knew what to do and then got ready for the real fashion parade. I was a bit nervous before I walked on stage but it went away when I walked out. First I wore a summer outfit (for the junior designers), then I wore a fancy dress outfit for the senior designers. The designers were so cool because they were so young, and one was just 6 years old. There were lots of photos taken and dad got lots of calls that night saying I was on the news. Next day at school my teacher showed me a picture of me in the paper and that was really cool. I hope I get more chances to do modelling again. Thank you soo much! Alanna Purchase
Cy Standen – Crossbow
It was a very different experience but I had a lot of fun doing it. It was great working with David the director and writer, the producers Angie and Polly, and I had a lot of fun acting with Joel Edgerton, Lisa Chappell and Mirrah Foulkes. Cy Standen
Dear Bettina, Jacintha and all people that work and help me get the jobs…love you and lots of hugs! Whenever you need me I will be there for the jobs I love to keep working for you and I hope I do. I am only 8 years old so we have a long way to go! See you all soon. Love, Erion Ramljak
Emily Dean – Passion 4 Fashion Awards (Story by Lisa Dean)
Girls love fashion – even 8 years old – so when we received a call from Anna at Bettina Management to confirm Emily's availability for a catwalk as part of the Spring Fashion Festival, Emily was very excited. The "Passion for Fashion" awards, sponsored by Bratz, was held at Myer Melbourne on Sunday 9 September and proved to be a much larger event than we had initially envisaged. We arrived in the City at 8.30 am, where we met the team putting the event together and were introduced to Emily's personal dresser! A quick try on of the 2 outfits Emily was to model (one of which was actually designed by a 10 year old) and then it was off to hair and makeup where curls were the order of the day. The 9 models involved in the event were then given a quick run though of what they had to do on the catwalk and then it was time for a full dress rehearsal. As show time approached, the excitement started to build, but even with the loud music, flashing lights and T.V. cameras all the girls did a fantastic job modelling outfits designed by finalists in the Passion for Fashion competition. Emily was excited to meet the events' master of ceremony, Jane Hall (who is currently appearing in Neighbours) and I (her mum) was equally excited to see champion swimmer Michael Klim in the audience. (His wife is ambassador for fashion week and presented awards). Overall, the day was a great success and very professionally organized and we thank Bettina Management for the opportunity to be involved in yet another great event. Emily says she had great fun and this was clearly evident as we caught her smiling face on two of the news stations that evening.
Jacinta Lane - Passion 4 Fashion Awards
On Sunday I went to Myer to do the Bratz Passion 4 Fashion and I had so much fun. When I first got there we tried on our clothes just to make sure they fit, my outfit was really beautiful and was designed by Meg Rutherford from Tasmania. I then got dressed back into my normal clothes and got my hair and make up done, it looked really pretty and there was also heaps of food and lollies for us models. The girls that did our hair and makeup were really nice and we had lots of fun. It was time to get dressed back into our clothes and take to the catwalk, we did a few rehearsals and then everybody started to come in and take their seats ready for the big fashion parade, I got to meet Jane Hall who stars on Neighbours too. Lights, camera, action and it was time for the parade to start, I loved walking down the catwalk with all the cameras flashing, I was very lucky because I was wearing the winning designers clothes and she won a trip to America. Meg is very lucky. Because I was wearing the winner's design I was interviewed by reporters and photographed. I felt like a celebrity that day and I got my photo taken with Lindy Klim who is the Australian swimmer Michael Klim's wife and their cute baby princess. It was the best day of my life. Thankyou Anna and Bettina for making this day the best ever. Lots of love Jacinta
Lucy Abroon - Major Crime Investigation, SBS Miniseries (Story by Gail Abroon)
Lucy had only just joined Bettina Management when she went for an audition for a role in a mini-series for the SBS called Major Crime, which was to be six-one hour episodes. We were so surprised when she was given the role, which was Yasmeen, the daughter of the main character Malik, a police officer. Lucy was so excited that she was actually going to be acting and appear on television and it was hard for her to imagine what it was going to be like as she had never done anything like this before. She had so much fun learning her lines, playing her part, and seeing what goes on when they are filming. She really got on well with all of her co-actors and it was a very memorable and rewarding experience for her. Gail Abroon (Lucy's Mum)
I was really nervous when I first started, but excited too. I was also excited that I was going to be on television. Acting was really cool and I loved working with all of my "family". I got to know the other actors really well and I was very sad when it was all over. I saw how they made movies, and now I realize how important acting is to me. When I grow up I want to be a famous actress. Lucy Abroon
Hi Emma, How are you?? Just wanted to let you know we have a copy of the Dimmey's catalogue that John did and he is on the front page and middle page and he looks great and he is sooooooo happy. They are great photos and the store manager at Werribee commented on how spunky John is! Also a lady stopped him in the street and asked him if he was in the catalogue and he was so excited. Again thank you! Kind regards, Amanda Reardon
"We've decided that you guys are the best kid's agent at the moment. Cheers Nick. (Nick Hamon Casting)
Katelyn Lewis – Target
Hi everyone at Bettina Management! My name is Katelyn. A few days ago I went in to do a photo shoot for Target. The ad was for Target's new socks. This was my first ever job, since I joined Bettina about 2 months ago. I was very excited when Carly, who works at Bettina Management, rang me and told me the good news! I was thrilled. I went in, to find that I was working with two other girls from Bettina, this was also their first job. I was very nervous, yet excited at the same time…When we entered HUGE studios, I was amazed to see what a studio actually looked like! There was heaps of furniture and things like that, which were obviously being used in photo-shoots, and there were cameras and lights everywhere! When it was our (the 2 girls and my) turn to do our shoot, I was very nervous, but I also couldn't wait to do it! We went into our studio, where our photos were to be taken, and everything was completely white! I was the first girl to try it! Target wanted my feet shooting up in the air; however they only wanted my right foot. So, to make the photo work, without any shadows, I had to do some very strange things! There was a wooden block there, which I had to lie on, on my back. I then had to hold my right foot up in the air so the photographer could get all the shots of my foot. I had to move back so a lot of my body was dangling over and my foot was straight up in the air. The photographer was great fun, he was encouraging me the whole time, telling me jokes, making me laugh, and just made the whole experience even better! There was a lady who was holding my leg up, so it didn't get tired, and she and the photographer let me rest whenever I wanted. I had to move my foot around so he could get different angles of it and move my toes back and forth! The whole shoot took about 20 minutes for me, and then it was the other girls turn to do the same thing! In the end, I was almost hanging upside down so they could get the shot of my foot. I had a lot of fun; I only hope every photo shoot is as fun as this one was! Katelyn Lewis
Tayla Peroomal - Bardot Girl
I have done a few Target catalogue shoots thinking they were pretty cool, but my first real big one for Bardot Girl was awesome! My experience of the day was great. At first I had to wait a while but all the waiting paid off. After my make-up and hair was done there was a lot more to come. They even did my nails. I had people fussing over my hair and make-up. Then I got my clothes on and we started working on the shots. The photographers were great. They took a lot of photos and when I say a lot I mean about 90 photos. It was great I loved it. They make you feel very special. I didn't realise how much time and effort can go into one photo. Tayla Peroomal
Charlotte Gillman – Happy Feet (Stephanie Gillman)
After months of anticipation, on 10th December 2006 Charlotte Gillman and her family got to walk the 'Blue Carpet' for the premiere of Happy Feet. With the live penguins, giant sized Mumbles and Gloria mascots and cameras everywhere it certainly was the most exciting time we have had going to the movies. The youngest guests received free snow cone drinks – unlimited!, whilst the adults received champagne – again unlimited! With free chocolates and snacks in the cinema, we felt very special. George Miller, Magda Szubanski and Brittany Murphy were the stars of the day along with other well known celebrities. All three came into the theatre to welcome everyone, talk about their experience making the movie and then introduced the film. After the filming in April it thankfully wasn't too long before Charlotte got to 'see her name up in lights'! I have to admit, it was hard to sit through the majority of the movie knowing that she wasn't going to be on until almost the end, but I think Charlotte and her sister got so engrossed in the movie that they almost forgot why we were there! When the big moment arrived there was hushed excitement and giggles (didn't want to disturb the other guests!) and Charlotte said it "felt weird seeing herself on the big screen". When her part was over it was time to let out a sigh of relief that she hadn't ended up on the cutting room floor, and of course we sat through the credits to see she had been given prominence of place being the first listed in the "Live Motion Actors" section. Since the release of the film we have had many giggles and requests for autographs from family, friends and especially her school friends. In the words of the Happy Feet producers – "It was the Coolest event of the year!"
Jack Byrne – 'Go For Your Life' [Vict Govt TVC] (Angela Byrne)
Jack was so excited to go and do his first T.V. commercial. The shoot was at a primary school in Moonee Ponds…The crew were very nice and they said "come over here Jack and we'll get you started." I was watching on one of the monitors as they were filming Jack. He was very relaxed having a good time joking around with the film crew. He did a really good job and they seemed to be very happy with what Jack said. Two weeks later the 'Go For Your Life' ad was on T.V. and Jack was there with his green T-shirt and army pants saying "five vegies" and "go for something other than a fizzy drink". It was so exciting, everyone was on the phone calling all the relatives and jumping around the lounge room. A special thanks to Bettina for being very helpful with all the information we needed.
"Dear Carly, I love coming to your workshops. I have so much fun and it is the bestest thing that I love doing. I have learnt heaps and heaps of stuff and now when I go to my auditions I'm not scared or nervous anymore. My favourite thing is the catwalk and when I grow up I want to be Australia's next top male model or a famous TV star because it is so cool and I have mega fun. You are the best teacher and your workshops rock. Love Brody McPharlane."
Hi there Jacintha, It was a great experience for Jameson to appear on the Kerrie Anne morning show. He really enjoyed meeting other children from the agency and hanging out with them while they waited for their spot to be recorded. The children got on well together dancing to the singer while he was tapping and chatting to the other mums they were going to be appearing with. Jameson also loved the cool clothes he got to wear and loved the whole make up and hair thing. He was most excited about meeting Bettina because he wanted to thank her for getting him on TV which has always been a dream of his. Overall it was a good day. It's very interesting to have a behind the scenes perspective because it certainly takes alot of work and time to put together the finished product that we view at home. Thanks again for putting Jameson up for this opportunity, he did really enjoy himself and it has only left him wanting more. Kind Regards, Carolyn Birks.
"Dear Bettina, Thank-you for Erion's castings, he had fun. Not sure if Erion is what the producers wanted but its all experience for him. He enjoys going to all castings as he said "mum, you never know…I have to go to them all". Personally, I think that was very smart of him! Your Erion takes it very personally and seriously so I am proud of him. Thank-you for giving my son, and your Erion a fantastic chance and greater confidence and a different life! Thank-you Bettina and to all the staff! You guys are the best! Love Erion and Diana Ramljak."
Trinity Mai – Coles TVC (Mai Nguyen)
Hi, my name is Trinity and I am now 9 months old, I had my first job on a Coles commercial on the 19th of January 2006. Myself and mummy had a great time although the hot summer day did make us feel a bit uncomfortable but all and all it was a great experience. The best thing about my first job is that I just had to lay there and be happy. I did have a few troubles here and there, where I didn't stay still and I kept rolling around. That's because I was happy that I had picked up on my rolling techniques and now I am crawling. My mummy loved the experience because she got to see all the exciting things that people do behind the scenes and that everyone was very friendly. I can't wait to see ME on TV and believe me, my mummy can't wait to see ME....... :) I would like to take this chance to thank Bettina Management for the opportunity that they gave me, so a BIG THANKS to Bettina Management. Trinity Mai (with Mum's help!)
Jameson Birks - Four 'N Twenty TVC. Hi Jacintha, I had to get up really early and get ready for my Four 'N Twenty commercial. It was a long drive to the commercial and mummy was worried she was going to get lost. When I got there everybody was very nice to me. I had to get dressed in a big bus and have my hair done so I looked good for the cameras. I got a white suit and had to pretend I was in a wedding. They asked me to do different acting stuff and sometimes I had to do it a lot. A very nice lady brought me juice and muffins when I got hungry. There was a really nice person who showed me all of the equipment and how it worked. It was really fun to do this, but the most fun was dipping my hands in chocolate and printing them onto the back of the white coat. I had a great time and really want to do more and I also want to be on TV as well. It's so much fun. Thank you Jacintha for making me get on TV I always wanted to do it. Love, Jameson Birks
Jesse Taverna - The Society Murders (Natalie Taverna)
Dear Jacintha, my name is Natalie Taverna, my son Jesse recently got an exciting role on a Tele-Movie (The Society Murders) thanks to the Bettina Agency. We were not quite sure what to expect when we arrived on set at 6:45 am. The crew soon made us feel extremely welcome and off Jesse went to make-up and wardrobe. The attention Jesse received on the two days he took part in this role was over whelming. Jesse also had the opportunity to spend the day with Georgie Parker; it was one of the highlights of my day. Whilst on set Jesse enjoyed being fussed over and had an absolute blast. The day was a great experience for the whole family. Now we are waiting for the airing of the Tele-Movie, so the excitement is building up in our family. Jesse can't wait to do it all again. We would like to thank Bettina for giving our son this opportunity and for all of your support. We would highly recommended Bettina to any one. Natalie Taverna
Charlotte Gillman – "Happy Feet" Movie (Stephanie Gillman)
Hi Guys, Well it's been a long 3 days, but a great experience for both Charlotte and I on the set of "Happy Feet". We were treated like royalty, and all the cast and crew were like family by the time we had to say goodbye yesterday. George Miller (the Director) is a wonderful and talented man, full of encouragement and kind words. The team were professional and great to work with. We had three days of shooting, with the first focusing on Charlotte's solo scenes in the movie. Lots of close up camera work and 'tapping' routines to learn, which she mastered with the help of Wayne and Caroline (sound capture technicians). On the second day we met Charlotte's "Mum" and the two were inseparable. I must admit, I think Charlotte's favourite crew member was Toot the Clown/Stand in penguin! Toot was in charge of eliciting smiles and laughter on set whilst taking on the role of pretend penguin to give all the cast and crew a focal point, as this was a green screen type production where the animated penguins will be added later. Toot inspired with balloon animals and lots of nose picking to get the right laugh at the right time! On the third day it was time to bring in the extras, and there was about 30 of them all crowding around Charlotte and "Mum", but Charlotte handled it like a professional, receiving her applause with grace, poise (and a very big head) at the end from all the cast and crew for all her efforts over the three days. Charlotte has had a taste of stardom and likes it a lot! We are all definitely looking forward to seeing her on the big screen. So thanks for making it all possible, by introducing her to the movie making world, and we look forward to the next opportunity that comes our way. Thanks again and regards, Stephanie and Charlotte Gillman
Charlie Dean – SPC TVC (Julie Dean)
Charlie had been chosen for an interview for an SPC commercial. Nerves and pulses racing and armed with enough sprinkle sandwiches to fill all the kids on set, we arrived at the location and introduced ourselves. From that moment on we were looked after and spoilt unlike anything we expected. On the set, they had a room with two beds so the little ones could rest whenever they needed. There were enough toys to occupy an army of children. The caterers seemed to magically whip up a storm from their Catering Van with an "everything you can imagine" menu for Breakfast both days, and lunch on the first day was a sight to be believed. Whenever they thought (or we thought) Charlie needed a rest, he was given a break and with every step of the way, he was considered first. Everyone on the set was friendly, polite and included us in on everything. There was no tension at any time and we thoroughly enjoyed every minute. The first day saw us shooting Charlie's scenes for 4 hours. The second day we finished the other 3 in 1.5hours. According to all on location he was brilliant and they were delighted he performed so well putting them ahead of time. In a nutshell, the SPC shoot was pure class and everyone involved are to complemented. Charlie loved all the fuss and attention and of course enjoyed all the applause and cheer when he flicked his food all over the place as directed by the script - it took two days after the shoot to break him out of that one! Our 3 year old niece was the first to spy the ad. Apparently she ran into the kitchen screaming to her parents "Charlie is on TV". My brother rang and told us and we acted like he was just having us on. Yes, we thought it a great joke to play on our emotions as we all knew it was somewhere around the time the ad would be released but thought it cruel to rope in their daughter - after all, we hadn't told her about the ad. Even though we thought we had been tricked, we still channel surfed for commercials and ended up having dinner on the couch! We so do not do dinner on the couch in this house so it shows how much hope we had riding with us. Then we saw it. There was our Charlie flicking porridge with the best of them and giving his cheeky grin in all directions. Honestly, it was a proud and life altering moment. We will no doubt play the clip over and over and over. What a great experience it has been all round. I could never have imagined the high could be this high! Charlie is only two and has already done something in his life. He's only two and now has a resume! He's only two and he's on TV! He's only two and has no idea how significant this is .... for a parent! I just wanted to say thanks for opening us up to such a great experience. Heath and I couldn't have asked for better and we look forward to many more adventures with Bettina Management and Charlie. Thanks Jacintha for everything. Bye for Now, Julie Dean.
"Good Morning Carly, how are you? I've just asked Nadine what her thoughts were of the 3 workshops she completed and they were…"Hi my name is Nadine and I'm 5yrs old. When my mum took me to the first class I was happy to be there because everyone was being friendly and it was lots of fun. I completed 3 workshops and I enjoyed all the tasks but my favourite was the modelling poses and catwalk especially when the camera was there. Thank you." Nadine really did enjoy the workshop. It was a great experience for her. I felt her self confidence was boosted. She now speaks louder and more clearly. Mary and Nadine Ali"
"My children, Lara (8) and Nadia (6) have both been extremely fortunate to have won 12 month contracts with Bettina Management…they are thrilled to be given another chance at modelling/acting as I had sworn off all agencies after a terrible experience with another (very expensive!!) agency when they were smaller. I admit, that when Bettina called to tell me Nadia had won...I grilled her no end to see what the loopholes were and just how she was going to "squeeze" some money out of me!! Poor Bettina!!...there were no loopholes and the only money I have spent has been on a couple of extra workshops in the summer holidays!!!
When I received a call a couple of weeks later to say that Lara had also won, the girls in the office were astounded. Recently they attended the school holiday workshop for extending their skills on the catwalk and in speaking roles. The teacher was encouraging of all the personality types, with some pretty "out there" kids and lots of shyness to deal with. Lara was absolutely in her element and gave it her all. Lots of laughter and giggles as the kids got to know each other. The catwalk in pairs with some pretty intricate turns gave them all the opportunity to be "real models". The following week I took Lara to do the Film and TV workshop. The teacher of this workshop was absolutely fabulous. She was enthusiastic and fun and drew the best performances from each child. Her teaching was brilliant and she should be praised highly. She was informative to the parents and children alike. Lara came home brimming with excitement and wishing that she could go right out and do an audition asap. The teachers speak of auditions so naturally that Lara has no fear of this process and can't wait to do her first one. Nadia and Lara loved the workshops and can't wait to go to the next ones. Best of all, they are better prepared for the auditioning process and so am I. Kiersten Jones"
Sophia Sykes - Osh Kosh / Sunday Telegraph TVC & Print (Katrina Sykes)
To all at Bettina's, I am writing to let you all know about my daughter's experiences with her jobs since she has been at Bettina's. So far she has done the summer Osh Kosh catalogue, which she had so much fun doing! She just loved dressing up in front of the cameras & posed like a true professional. We all got such a thrill seeing her in the catalogue & also in huge poster form! Recently she has appeared as the main talent in the Sunday Telegraph 'Australia Day' promotion. Once again she enjoyed every moment of the shoot - both TV commercial & print media. We can only hope there will be more to follow! Her favourite thing of all is getting the little treats from the crew for all her help & hard work! Regards, Katrina & Sophia Sykes
Courtney Bird – Bardot/Total Girl/Disney.
Hi my name is Courtney Bird. I have just started year 7 at St Mary's College. The second day of school we went on camp to Safety Beach. My mum came and picked me up from camp at 10.30pm after our supper because I was lucky enough to be chosen to model for Bardot and I had to be at Soda Rock Cafe at 6am in South Yarra. Then when I finished I met Bettina because she had come down to see how it was all going, which was a thrill. I didn't realise how tall and beautiful she was. Then we went shopping and had a look in the Bardot shop in Chapel St. It's so exciting that I'm going to be in Total Girl magazine and Disney and in the posters for Bardot in Myer. I hope everyone else out there will get an opportunity like this. It's great fun. Good Luck to all! Courtney Bird
Djavan Osegueda - Target (Elisa Osegueda)
Hi Bettina, My son Djavan had an amazing experience on his first set of shoots for the February Target catalogue. We were very excited that he had been called in for one shoot, but imagine our delight when we were called back for more shoots for six consecutive days! The crew at Huge Studios was very helpful and made Djavan feel right at home. We also had a shoot at a beautiful reception mansion and Djavan enjoyed taking photos in the front garden. We had a fun time at the Collingwood Children's Farm. Djavan and the other kids were able to do a bit of exploring around the area and were fascinated with a big black pig that lingered nearby. Djavan enjoyed being outdoors along with the other children. None of them seemed to mind the thirty-plus heat that we parents battled with! I can't express how proud we felt when we got our hands on the catalogue. Djavan's face lit up when he saw his photos and he said, 'Mum, let's take some more!' He is very pleased with himself and the phone hasn't stopped ringing with friends and family paying him compliments. I am glad that we had this wonderful experience. Thank you Bettina for providing us with these opportunities! Keep up the good work! Kind Regards, Elisa Osegueda
Emily Evans – Neighbours (Anna Evans)
Here are some notes re: Emily's latest 'venture'. Although she has thoroughly enjoyed all the photographic/catalogue and catwalk work she has done, getting a call to say she had successfully auditioned for a guest role on 'Neighbours' was a real highlight for her. Filming for the first episode took place over two days - both at 'Ramsay Street' and Global studios. The cast and crew were welcoming and friendly, which made Emily feel very relaxed on the set. We were both surprised how long it took to film the scenes, with just a few minutes from an episode requiring rehearsals, repeating the scene from different camera angles, and adding sound/audio. Emily was exhausted after the two days but can't wait to film the next episode in March. Emily & Craig Evans
Dear Bettina, My daughter, Leah, and I just want to thank you all for the wonderful opportunity Leah was given at the Kids Expo this year. As tiring as it was Leah and I had lots of fun, especially Leah who got to try on lots of different outfits. She has been talking about it non-stop and is always practising her 'model walk' and says she can't wait to show Deanne. A great big thankyou needs to go to Deanne who had a never-ending reservoir of energy and encouragement over the weekend. She was a source of great support and enthusiasm for children and parents alike. I think Deanne is a great addition to your management group and that you do everything to keep her happy and with you. Thanks once again for the experience. Regards, Michelle Borderick
Hi Bettina, my name is Marketa and my daughter Olivia has recently transferred to Bettina's from another agency. I was just wanting to thank you for the friendliness and professionalism that we have encountered each and every time we have dealt with the members of your team (including photography staff). This morning, Olivia and her dad attended a call-back for a Huggies commercial. Apparently all went well and Olivia had an absolute ball. We are truly happy to be a part of the Bettina family, and look forward to many exciting opportunities in the future. Thanks from Marketa and Olivia Malek
Dear Bettina, This is me Erion Ramljak. This is my third year with you and I am getting older and each time I do a JOB for you I like it more and more and have lots of fun. My mum helped me with this letter. I have done Uncle Toby's Bites, Cancer Council magazine, Japanese clothing and Kellogg's Frosties for America that was so fun. I had two days in the pool, boy was that fun!
Hannah Seymour - Total Girl Mag
Hi my name is Hannah Seymour and I would like to share my experiences about my first modelling assignment. I am currently in this month's 'Total Girl' magazine. The photo shoot was for their 3rd birthday so myself and 3 other girls had a long day at a party. It was so cool! It was so much fun modelling the clothes and having my hair and makeup done. Everyone was so friendly and helpful which made it so much easier for my first time. I have also enjoyed the castings I have been to for McDonalds, Target and Cupid Girl and look forward to working a lot more.
Lucy Crossing - Ingham Chicken TVC (Paul & Mary Crossing)
In September, Lucy was called on to be in a commercial for Ingham Chicken. Lucy was naturally very excited and could not wait for the big day. On the afternoon of filming everyone was very helpful and made Lucy feel relaxed and comfortable. She had great fun. A big highlight for Lucy came at the end of filming when she was given a round of applause from everyone at having completed her first commercial. She now watches the ad on TV and is very proud of her involvement. Thank you to everybody who contributed to making this experience a memorable one for Lucy. She can't wait to do it all again. Paul & Mary Crossing
Patrick Rowe - Bega Cheese & McDonalds TVC (Myfanwy Rowe)
My son Patrick was asked to be the Bega boy for a Bega cheese ad in May. He arrived at the set at 7:00am and was promptly dressed in a school uniform. He felt very grown up and special especially in his shiny new black shoes. His job was to sit on a school bench, eat a cheese sandwich and smile. He loves cheese and the opportunity to eat cheese constantly throughout the morning while everyone fussed over him made him very happy. Patrick was on set for three hours and he loved all the cameras moving around him, being in a school uniform and playing the part of a school boy. All the crew on the set were fantastic and made Patrick feel relaxed the whole time. Patrick has since completed a McDonalds Commercial and enjoyed dressing as a skater boy and having a skate board to play on. Again, the crew were great especially considering there were 40 children to organise and a number of different scenes to shoot.
Olivia Malek – Huggies TVC
Hi Everyone, My name is Olivia, and I am one of the toddlers on the new Huggies Pull-Up commercial! I am very excited, because I haven't done a commercial for a while now. On the day of the shoot, I had to have an 'L' plate stuck on my bottom. I thought this was very funny and kept asking the people if I could have one on the front as well. My job was to run across some toys on the floor. I was a bit confused at first and kept on trying to pick up the blocks as I ran past them. Eventually I ran straight through and everyone gave me a clap. It was very exciting. I had only been with Bettina Management for a couple of weeks when I got the audition call. There were so many other children there, so my mum and dad were very surprised when I received a call back, and then got the part of backup.
A few weeks later, we saw the commercial on TV and were even more surprised, because instead of only been used as a backup, I had been chosen to appear on the commercial! Thanks to everyone at Bettina's for giving me the opportunity to be on TV. My whole family are so proud of me, and look out for my commercial all the time.
Tate & Niki Short - Target Catalogue (Karina Short)
Dear all at Bettina, Just wanted to thank you for giving my children the opportunity to audition for commercials/mini scripts and appear on television. I thought it was a child's romantic dream; however she kept asking when I could get her into catalogues and on TV. I didn't think that she would be fortunate to appear in anything, however I thought if I can put her name down with an agency I had fulfilled my obligation. When we got our first call Niki was soooooo excited. Since the first call the telephone has not stopped ringing (and she is still just as excited every time!!) Niki was an extremely shy little girl who has benefited so much from her experiences. My son is also modelling with Bettina and while he definitely doesn't need any more confidence it has taught him to listen and follow instructions. I hope his school teacher has also noticed!!! If anyone asks me about signing their children with Bettina I would have no hesitation in recommending you. Karina Short
"Just a quick message to say that we participated in Kidz Expo on the weekend with my son Joshua modelling some clothes, at times it got pretty hectic and Deanne and Melissa handled it with ease. They were fantastic and thoroughly professional all weekend. They made it fun for the kids. Thank you for making our first outing with you enjoyable. Hope to be hearing from you again soon." Shannon Timms
"…I wanted to write and show my appreciation (and Charlotte's) for being invited to be involved in the Kids Expo fashion parades in Sydney this past weekend. It was great fun and learning for both of us! Most of all though I wanted to say a big congratulations to Deanne and the team for all their hard work. Deanne was amazing with the kids. She was motivating and fun and is certainly in the right industry. Also, she tells great children's stories – with the actions!! Definitely book her version of The Three Little Bears for your Christmas party entertainment! Everyone did a great job, especially as they were working with a bunch of amateurs (and I am talking about the parents here, not the kids!) It was great to see the kids grow and blossom over the weekend as they mastered the catwalk and the whole weekend was a very exciting starting point for many little careers (we hope!). Anyway, just wanted to thank everyone for making us feel special and that it was an honour to represent Bettina!" Stephanie and Charlotte Gillman
"Dear Bettina and staff, words are not enough to describe the excitement you brought to our family. Especially little Melissa modelling on the Saturday morning at the Expo. She loved it. It was the most happy day for our family, watching Melissa's dream come true. She always wanted to be on the catwalk and finally you made her dream! We thank you sincerely! My whole family loved the show and we are overjoyed! Thanking your lovely staff whom really were great and very professional." Lisa Cirkovic & Melissa Cirkovic
"Dear Bettina, my daughter Natalie Saunders was accepted by your agency approximately two weeks ago and another agency at around the same time. I must congratulate you on the friendliness of your staff, particularly Katie who interviewed my daughter and Sharon on the phone. Both girls made us feel like family and not a number which I believe is an amazing quality today, especially as they must deal with many mums all day long…Katie and Sharon were pleasant, patient, helpful and professional and are a credit to your agency. It is most impressive to have the telephone answered by a human; the personal touch is so refreshing and that was the deciding factor that gave us the confidence to join the 'Bettina' family!" Joanne Saunders
Ben Masterson - Honda TV Commercial: I was called up for the first time to be an extra for a Honda commercial last Friday. I was very excited. I had to be at Calder Raceway at 8am. I had the Australian flag painted on my face. It was a very hot day, and being in the sun all day, it was a long day. I didn't realise how many times you have to do things over & over to make a commercial. I did enjoy being picked with 2 other kids to be at the front of the line of people and being told to do something different. I liked the ice cream at lunch. After lunch we went into the grandstand, this was fun. We saw Auscars going around the track which was exciting. I had a great day, but I was very tired. Ben Masterson PS, I heard the commercial was going to show in Japan, will I get to see it at all?
Bianca Baseggio – Honda TV Commercial: On Friday 1st April I was chosen to be an extra for a Honda TV commercial. It was at the Calder Raceway. I was chosen to speak in the commercial. I was very excited and nervous as this was my first job. It was a very hot day but I had lots of fun and met lots of other children. I had the chequered flag painted on my arm and other colours on my face. Thanks for everything! Bianca Baseggio.
Karla Brenner - 'Charlotte's Web' Film (Andrea Steinfeld): Hi Bettina, I am Karla's Mum. I just wanted to let you know that Karla is having a wonderful time and an incredible experience working as Dakota Fanning's stand-in in Charlotte's Web. Karla has enjoyed it so much she is looking forward to doing more work. She has been a trooper with many early morning call times. We have just finished week 4 of non-stop work. This week we were in Greendale down on the farm set and then in Spotswood at a Primary School, then in Williamstown for a street scene, then back to Greendale. We are heading back to Bacchus Marsh where we have been staying when Karla is needed at Greendale, on Sunday for a week and a bit. Then they are filming in Heidelberg for the 'fair' scene. Karla has met and spent time chatting and playing with Dakota and all the other kids on location. It has been a rich and varied experience for Karla, her 10½ month-old baby sister Angelina and myself. We are all going to be used as extras in the 'fair' scene. Angelina is also on your books. As Karla is so interested in continuing to work to camera I think now would be a good time to get her involved in some training in preparation for castings/auditions. Can you recommend anything? Thanks so much for the opportunity for Karla. Love and appreciate your good work. Best regards, Andrea Steinfeld (Bettina: thanks for the letter Andrea, check our news section for information on relevant courses we introduced this month.)
"…Erion is in the Anti-Cancer Council magazine. He is on the front and back page and page 7. Thanks for everything you've done. You started a new book in Erion's life and we are both glad that you are in our lives. Once again THANK-YOU Bettina" Diana & Erion
"…Astrid did the shoot today for Studio Bambini in Kiama even though it was raining this morning they had no choice, but luckily it had cleared up by the time we got there. She only had one outfit this time and posed with a little boy. It took a long time as they were going for the cover, which is exciting. On the way back we were caught in a really bad hail storm the size of pebbles, so bad in fact that they closed Sydney Airport. Anyway we're home safe and sound!" Claire Mullins
"…I also appreciated the newsletter that was included in the application form I was provided. It was extremely helpful to read the achievements/experiences section which gave me a good idea of what Emily and I should expect on the day of a photo shoot. The story about Lauren Saunderson was amazing, her first photo shoot, broken wrist and all. Thankyou!" Brad & Emily Parkinson
"…I would just like to say 'thank you'. Blake has been very lucky to even have the chance to go to two castings already. This gives me peace of mind knowing that the agency really does work for you. Before I joined I had heard some stories about other agencies and I was a little worried. I understand that all children might not get work but it is good to know that their photo is there and being shown to clients. Thanks again." Renee McDermott

Collingwood FC Photo Shoot (Sebastian Falcone)
I won a contract with Bettina's agency at the Kid's Expo this year. I didn't think that I would win, but I got a phone call, and Bettina said that I did. I was so excited, because I knew that my Mum and Dad could never afford something like this to happen to me.
Bettina soon rang to say that I had a photo shoot for the races. She said that it was with some football players. IT WAS WITH NATHAN BUCKLEY!!!!!!
I was so excited because he is my favourite player. I then went into a competition for Emirates Day, but someone else won. But, I met Nathan and his friends at the races and had a great time. I now have another photo shoot to go to. Thank you Bettina! Sebastian Falcone
Emily Dean - Target Ads (Lisa Dean)
We had talked about signing Emily to a modelling agency for some time but it was her schoolteacher who finally convinced us to do it. So, after the initial rush of interviews, photos and measurements we waited with great anticipation.
Emily's first assignment was exciting, with an audition for a television commercial to be shown in the US of all places. To our surprise Emily received a call back, and while she didn't secure the assignment, there has hardly been a fortnight since, when she hasn't had at least 1, 2 or more jobs. The assignments have taken us to parks, schools, the beach, yacht clubs, swimming pools and studios, and we have met lots of interesting, professional photographers and staff (even Bettina's daughter) who always ensure a fun environment for Emily. Emily especially loves wearing all the pretty clothes and has modelled toys, shoes, pencils, bathers, and even a laminating machine! Emily says the highlight of photo shoots is getting to try out lots of different hairstyles – and even mum is now getting more adventurous than pigtails and plaits. It has been a learning curve for Emily and mum (who has to keep the mobile phone handy and charged) but one that has been well worth it.
While Emily's most recent assignment was a photo shoot for Target that comes out at Easter (can you believe it?), her thoughts are very much on Christmas and we look forward to continued health, happiness and assignments in 2005.
Cooper Hoskins - AGL TV Commercial (Tracey Hoskins)
We got the call on Monday the 16th August 2004 from Bettina asking for Cooper and Reid to attend a casting for an AGL TV Commercial at Toni Higginbotham. When the boys finished, I asked them how they think they went. Cooper replied, "I think I will get it"…"do you now?" is all I said, and I had a bit of a chuckle. On the Friday as I was driving down to Wollongong for the day, I got the exciting news from Bettina to let me know that Cooper had been accepted for the AGL ad, and could we be at wardrobe at 6.00pm on that night at Bellevue Hill. What an experience! …what an amazing house, or should I say mansion! …it was gorgeous! How cool - my son will be in a commercial! We received another call to say the filming of the ad would be on Thursday 26th August at 4pm at Homeworld, Kellyville. Wow! This is really happening! Cooper's feelings were very calm, but excited. He wasn't nervous at all. Jackie, who we met at wardrobe, rang to ask if we would mind if they put us up at the Crown Plaza for the night. Wow! Of course we agreed. We arrived at the Crown Plaza about 2pm, checked out our beautiful room and got ready to be on location by 4pm. We arrived at 3.15pm as we could not wait any longer. We were welcomed and made to feel at ease. Everyone was so friendly! We met some really nice people. Some of who we still keep in contact with. They were running a bit late and did not start filming 'till about 6.00pm but we didn't mind. The cast had makeup, hair and wardrobe to attend and they even fed us! It was beautiful! They called Cooper and the other cast members to the set. The emotions had really set in by now. The back yard where they were filming was too small to let parents out there, but we managed to sneak a look. What a wonderful experience it was for my son Cooper, and also for me as a parent.
They called it a night at 10pm. We left to stay at our beautiful room at the Crown Plaza. What a day! When the ad came to air, the whole family were all jumping around with excitement!
Tarryn Krysten (Riggio)
My experience with the Nivea journey started with a phone call by the Bettina Agency, some two or three weeks prior to the main shoot asking me to attend the photo studio. Incredible! The phone call asking for my presence to a shoot for the adolescent skin care company, finally reached me, and with euphoric joy I took all information required for me to be present on the big day. Me!!, Wow!! Trying to get some sleep on the night proceeding was very difficult. The adrenalin level was obviously running high; I assumed I had a huge day ahead of me on the day to come. The Modelling job after all, was for the skin care giant, Nivea, as referred to by girlfriend magazine. I was now about to model for Nivea, double Wow!! After having a restless night, I awoke at 6:30am on the morning of the shoot. I was so excited, however, total ready to go. So eager to get there that the psychology made it seem a much lengthier time to reach the destination. The reality of it all was that it was only half an hour away. Eventually I arrived at the first venue - Benedict Café in St. Kilda on a beautiful, crisp and wonderfully sunny 7:30am morning. It was here that my introduction to the shooting crew and three other beautiful girls that I would be working with for the rest of the day had reached me. I felt so privileged to meet these wonderful people and they made me feel so comfortable. A call of, "Tarryn!" eventually broke our chit chatting attitude which I was fondly enjoying broke to the reality. All of a sudden I was thrust into the world of modelling. First make-up, then wardrobe, then all of a sudden the crew directed me to the set. The voices began, "Just look to the side Tarryn!", "That's it!" and then, that first click of the shutter. It amplified and excited every cell in my body; it was my first pro-shoot. Amazing!! Finally, it dawned on me. The pace seemed to be relentless. We went from one venue to another. We shot at St. Kilda beach with the scenery just so beautifully inviting. It just seemed perfect, even with all the, "look here!, look there!, down!, up!", along with all the other gestures demanded. The Astor theatrette in Chapel street, another historical St. Kilda attraction was another of our target visits. We spent several hours at each location. After our adventurous journey and experiencing the life of a model - in a small way - we then headed off to the photographer's studio for even more shots. It just seemed so surreal! After experiencing the best day of my teenage life, the day culminated with the last few shots along with the in-between chit chats of my beautiful colleagues. It was abruptly 5:30pm and we had completed the Nivea, Girlfriend magazine photo shoot. Just so much fun and so enjoyable I didn't want the day to end. However, it had to, so like before I await the next call.
Mark & Polly Vinall
On Thursday the 1st of April, April Fools Day, Rufus Aitken-Vinall co-stared in the new Sara Lee Commercial. The day started in Bigalo, Sydney, at 0830 with wardrobe and makeup and Rufus was soon on set in front of the Camera along with 2 huge lights that were blasting reflected light into the kitchen set. Unfazed by the hustle and bustle of the 38 person crew and listening only to the 1st Assistant Director for his que, six year old Rufus along with his pseudo brother and father acted out their respective roles. When not performing in front of camera the actors relaxed in the makeshift "Green Room" while the crew reset for the next shot. Lunch was served in the double garage and tea, coffee, cold drinks and snacks were available on tap throughout the day. The commercial was for Sara Lee Cookies and in the afternoon all three actors were bursting at the seams from take after take of cookie eating. Rufus didn't complain, he loved them! The shoot went very well and everyone congratulated each other at the end of the 8 hour day. The feedback that we received from everyone on Rufus performance throughout the day was very complimentary. As his parents we feel very proud of our son, who entered into his debut role with much enthusiasm.
Michele Saunderson;
About 10 minutes before we were due to head off to Lauren's first photo shoot, she accidentally fell off her toy slide and hurt her wrist. She was all dressed and ready to head off but was in quite a bit of pain. We had to cancel the appointment which was really disappointing for Lauren because she had been so excited about doing the job. At the hospital, they told us that it looked ok but we should get an x-ray for our own peace of mind. They referred us to a medical centre because they were very busy.
By this time, Lauren's wrist wasn't hurting and she could move it freely. We called Jane to see if we could still make the appointment. She said that unfortunately they had to substitute Lauren. Lauren was disappointed so we headed to McDonald's for a play to cheer her up. She was finding it hard to climb and play again so off we went to the medical centre for an x-ray again. It was quite a wait and as time went on she was feeling better again. Then Jane called and asked if we could still make it. I checked with Lauren who was very keen. We left the doctors, having not seen anyone. Lauren was so excited about the photo shoot that she had forgotten about her wrist. We made it to the appointment and Lauren loved it. She got to wear a pretty pink dress and quickly made friends with the other model, Chloe. They looked fantastic and had a ball. Afterwards, Lauren started complaining again about her wrist. Back to the doctors, an x-ray later and it showed that she had broken her wrist. Now she was in plaster for 4 weeks. We emailed Jane and Bettina to advise them. They told us that the client was very impressed that Lauren was able to show up to the photo shoot and do so well. I told Lauren about this and she was very proud. She asked when she can do it again. I figure she is talking about the photo shoot and not the broken arm!
