What does Bettina Management do?
Bettina Management promotes children for still photography, parades, television, drama, film & mini series across all areas of the industry.
How do I know you are reputable?
We would encourage you to make your own enquiries to satisfy yourself as to the reputation of our business. You can view the testimonials from advertising companies and clients listed in the Our Work section of this website and also feel free to call any of them or the major retail clients found in our Client Listing. To become more familiar with the agency, please have a read of some of our newsletters which you will find in the News section and also have a look at some of the Recent Jobs our kids have done.
Who are your clients?
Bettina Management has a long association with many clients and is well known and respected within the industry. You can read more about our clients by looking at the Client Listing in the Our Work section of this website.
How do you promote your talent?
We promote our talent through a number of mediums. In the first instance we submit your child's photos immediately to Australia’s largest on-line casting service, Artist Technologies (AT2). This secure (privacy protected) service puts our talent right in front of all of the major casting agencies and clients in the advertising & entertainment industries. Similar functionality is also provided through the Bettina Management website via our encrypted client login. Parents are also able to instantly update their child’s portfolio as new material becomes available. We also produce tailored, full colour ‘hard copy’ talent books for our key clients as requested. We also promote your child through our internal talent database that is used by our staff for clients who have specific needs.
What percentage of children get work?
It varies a lot from month to month and between age categories, but rarely would a day go by that we don’t put children forward for work.
How many children do you represent in my child’s age category?
It varies a lot throughout the year, but some categories of children have as few as 5-10 represented, the younger categories may have up to 20 or 30 at any one time.
Can you guarantee work?
No, but we can guarantee that we will put your child forward for all the jobs that your child is suitable for. The client has the final say, but we only take children on who we feel have potential to receive work.
Am I too old or young?
Bettina Management represents children from the age of 5 months to 17 years. Where the opportunity exists, we also get parents, grandparents and family pets involved in the fun.
How much can my child earn?
There are no set rates for the type of work we source for your child. We can however give you an indication by way of examples.
At the super star end, Bettina Management has recently cast a 12 year old boy in a mini-series being shot at Fox Studios on the Gold Coast paying over $1,500 per week for 6 months. As another example, a recent one-day shoot involving 3 of our kids paid around $6,000 to each kid! For still photography/catalogue work, children are generally paid between $45 to $85 per hour. Loadings are also paid for posters, billboards or point of sale work which can mount to thousands of dollars.
How much commission do you take?
The commission deducted from your child’s standard earnings which is standardized across the industry is 20% for television commercials and stills and 10-15% for Drama, Musical Theatre and mini series. An agency fee may also be applicable.
What is included in my membership?
The agency membership fee covers a professional photographic session, photos, insertion in our tailored client talent books, lodgement on the secure internet online talent database and the ongoing marketing of your child's talent for 12 months. Your membership also covers two child development courses; one covering modelling and deportment and the other for acting & auditioning. Find out more about the free introductory courses here.
Are the fees tax deductible?
Fees and commissions paid to Bettina Management are tax deductible if the talent has earned income over the current tax free threshold of $6,000p.a. You should however seek advice from you accountant with regard to the relevant tax laws for your individual situation.
When do my child and I need to be available for work?
Work can be on at any time; however jobs and castings are generally on weekdays. Although we encourage our clients to do shoots after school, there is no guarantee that the work will be outside of school hours, so you’ll need to be prepared to take your children out of school from time to time.
